Purchased my '97 white Miata back in May. Finally, last week I got it running and driving. It only took me 3ish long months but I'm happy that I pulled through and for the most part got everything working...First time working on a car, I don't think it went too horribly wrong. My paint job is pretty bad but that will be a future problem.

After a week of driving, i'm getting a loud ticking noise...Is my engine screwed? It's from a '96 Miata.

Sounds like normal lifter tick to me. You can search on miata.net for info about it, but long and short is that it is nothing to worry about and pretty normal on older miata's.

Alright kind sir, thank you for the amazingly quick reply. I'm pretty stoke that the tick isn't an issue. Other than that mirror issue, i've had an amazingly large amount of fun driving this car...I've NEVER driven a manual car before but it was easy to learn with this car...Although, I hate my daily traffic drive even more now.

My final questions before I go search the world of google and miata.net about lifter tick, the previous owner screwed up the threading on the door and i guess the threading broke off...is my only option to find somebody to weld a new nut into the door or can anybody think of a better way to macgyver my way outta this situation.

Find a replacement door or weld. Don't know your location so I can't help with a replacement door.

Imo, I'd weld nuts on the inside and bolt through if possible. Not sure what it looks like on the mirror side of things.

That noobgalin sticker is cringe worthy. Car looks fairly clean though. I suspect light rust for being in H-Town.

Ya, there's a lot of stickers on there that I don't like. I just haven't had time to peel them off. The windshield sticker's driving me nuts
