doing my duty

I currently have 2001 BRG/tan interior Miata SE. it has A/C, power this and that, but i'm not interested in that stuff. I attend chinmotorsports events at sebring, and a seat-time event at roebling road. while only having been to roebling once, it was the only track that my stock power didn't get in the way. I've been to sebring 7-8 times now, and i point by everyone on the straights. I'm looking to change that and have been looking for something faster than a miata. But problem is that everything i look at, 240sx for example, will need alot more power than a miata would to turn a faster lap. Mazda fucking accomplished something great with this platform!

I predict this won't end well for you. :)

here's my advice: DONT post random shit all over the place like "cool" and "wow I love this place" and "ill bet a miata will leave a 240sx at the track with equal hp"......you will make everyone hate you, and (hopefully) get banned

Yea, i tried to warn you after your 3rd BS post..I suggest a nice proper intro thread to be your next to try to save face with the mods.

I'm not trying to get banned, i'm trying to buy a car off of this forum, and soon add to and use the forum. unfortunately the rules that bind me might keep me from purchasing the car. I don't currently have a turbo car, and can't say much about them yet. I would love to add more to this forum, but until i have a turbocharger on my miata i can't say much. i'm trying to stay out of everyones way and play by the rules, i'm sorry i suck right now, and i'm trying to get out of the suck, and letting me talk to the owner of the car i would like to buy would help me get out of said suckness. I sent one PM to the owner, and he replied back. Now my post count has gone down, probably because i made someone mad by making stupid post's. that's what i get, i understand that. this is my hazing, thanks for not letting me off easy.

I vote to read all the FAQ's and get some knowledge before even buying a turbo miata. If you dont know what a good set up is you could end up buying a peice of s***.

You'll do well here, majorposer, you don't have the attitude most of our n00bs have.

Ajb - agreed, but in this case the Miata in question is sound and the build details are out there. IIRC it's almost an 11-second car..

majorposer 10-15-2008 10:02 PM

thank you guys for the wise/kind words. I'm definitely going to be all over the FAQ, but the owner is waiting on my reply, and I gotta work on my post count politely, and usefully.

18psi 10-15-2008 10:26 PM

well in that case I wont give you any more shit:D

Don't buy an already built car, build your own and share your experience. Take the good, the bad, the stuff you learn and use that information to grow your own build. This forum has really gone downhill since most of the big posters have pretty much completed the major steps of their builds. They are now focusing on the smaller, more detailed aspects of getting everything they can from their setups. There needs to be new blood to continue the diy path and are willing to stick around and build it themselves.

I'm heavy into track time, and value seat time over wrench time (i'm a auto tech for MINI coopers M-F 7:30-6pm, i'm tired of working on cars at the end of the day, leaving only my weekends for projects and track days.). mxv has built an autocrosser, and i want to turn it into a car for NASA's timetrials. One thing i've seen people do, which is worse for them, is build a car and learn how to drive the beast, which ultimately hurts their racecraft. i've been working on my racecraft with a stock car, and learned alot, and i want to keep learning so i can max out the potential of the car, rather than max out the potential of the driver. if i were to build a car, that would put me out of some much needed track time until it was built, and then i would have to work out all the bugs. I have seen alot of very fast cars look horrible, and turn even worse laps. I don't want to make that mistake, I want to beat the shit out of the dude that has too much money and not enough sense!
