Default hey everyone hows it going?

hi guys i just got my hands on this beautiful 1994 miata mx5 i know it has performance suspension and 1.8l has upgraded injectors and fuel pump, dual out magnaflow exhaust and a K&N cold air intake mounted in the bottom bumper im guessing so that when your moving fast it forces air in better?

anyways i took it to a friends shop and he put it on the dyno and it was putting out 162-165hp between a few different test. now i am shooting for 275-325hp and i am curious if you guys have an ideas for me my budget right now is about 11,000$ and maybe more if i step up the extra work lol.

my goal is to make it so that i can cruise the mountains of california or arizona or anywhere without having to down shift and to be able to easily pass people without having to shift. it does have a upgraded 5speed. the tranny was (built) new better bearings and titanium plates and whatever else they do to reinforce them i guess they put roller bearings? or something like that in it to i dont remember exactly but they said it was built to handle upto 350hp with no problems and upto 400 before would need major modifications to it.. but yeah im not sure just what i was told.

so if anyone has any ideas for me let me know. i will post pics and dyno whenever my friend brings the dyno and his digital cam over.

Holy **** WTF?

Andy, take a deep breath... this is going to hurt. I read your other thread awhile back "Hi from Scottsdale" or something, and I have to be honest... I don't think you have the technical knowledge to be doing any kind of modifications to your car. Some people are better off not messing with mechanical devices. Your concepts of how things work and your general automotive knowledge lacks even the most basic understanding.

I'll elaborate.
First, even a moderately modified '94 1.8l motor makes about 110-115whp on a good day. Your dyno operator friend is feeding you a line of bullshit. Unless you build a $10k motor, it takes at least 5-6psi of boost to make 165whp on a 1.8.

If the previous owner has put larger fuel injectors in the car, then you need to locate some stock sized ones and have somebody else put them back in. The only reason to go to larger injectors is if you're going to add boost. There is absolutely no benefit and a long list of going-to-run-like-****'s by going with larger injectors for no reason.

For your transmission, there is nothing available like what you're talking about short of $5k, and I promise if your car has a $5k tranny, the previous owner would have told you more than "titanium whatevers".

I think you got scammed pretty bad, but you really don't say a whole lot of things that make sense.

Let's start by you posting some pictures of the car... ALL OF THE CAR. Exterior, engine bay, interior, trunk, suspension pieces, etc.

Also,
How much did you pay and how many miles?

Wait why is your friend bringing over the dyno? Or do you mean he is bringing over the dyno sheet?

hold on just a tick...
Dyno showed 165 hp? I believe you.

On your next run, calibrate it for a miata, and not a freightliner

No doubt, and you will have better throttle response than all of us, because the split second the turbo takes to spool is way to slow, so we are doing a group trade with fuji, and trading our turboz plus 500 dollars for itb's.
