Default my fun little piņata

Checking in for Nebraska, I have an NB2 Miata which I love to absolutely drive. Definitely been reading up on all the FAQs and threads lots of good information here and so much more to absorb. I am transforming my fun little car into a more beastly spooling machine, I have chosen the DIY path so begins my long journey of parts accumulation and fabrication.

I would post a better pic, but I'm currently station thousand miles away from my car.

Looking at everything, I'm going to taking it safe and shoot for a 220rwhp system. System that'll work with hopefully my ac and ps. Upgrade the injectors, etc. I have a local guy looking to sell a TD04 off of a WRX for under an $100, not deadset on it so my options are open. My budget is around 2 grand so kits are out.

Don't get hung up on the turbo yet; plan your supporting mods first. Things like a new clutch will eat up a significant portion of your budget. Keep an eye on the classified for used stuff.

Yeah for $2k I would start with a megasquirt and some coilovers, and start saving up some real money for the turbo system. You can do a DIY turbo kit for $2k but you will be stretching it unless you know your way around a welder.

Yes, engine management is a must not sure which route, MS seems like route to take. Definitely looking forward to spending time welding and fabricating. Edit, money's not an issue but I wanna be hands on lol wanna say I did it, but def make it reliable with good parts. First up upgrade the clutch thinking ACT xtreme, unless you recommend otherwise. I wanna keep this car looking as stock as possible, as well as quiet all while being reliable.
Why coilovers? I like the stock height on my Kosei K4r's 16x7.5

Eh by coilovers I guess I just mean 'stiffer, improved suspension.' You don't have to get the baller Xidas like I have, but you'll notice a huge improvement in handling even with something like used bilsteins and Ebay springs and perches.

^ with a $2k budget for now, do everything but the turbo. Get 'squirted, suspension, clutch, injectors, rollbar if you plan to get one, wheels and tires, etc.

Then when the time comes, the turbo installation is a breeze. Plus you'll gain a couple horsies and TONS of knowledge from the above mods before you turbo.

Also, welcome! I may have a soft spot in my heart for dat emerald mica
