Hey all,

I'm Eric, from Columbia, SC. I'm 22, and have been on this forum a few times for answers with a few other Miatas that I've owned in the past. I'd really like to get back into the regional autocrosses, and maybe get some HPDE track time in at some point when I have a day off.

The Miata is a 2004 Mazdaspeed, Velocity Red, with 76,xxx miles. I love this car. I've had it a little over a year now, and it still puts a smile on my face when I drive it. I've done a couple of small modifications here and there. I installed that Flyin' Miata intake kit and a Mishimoto aluminum radiator when the stock one became damaged. Other than that, she's stock. I'm not sure which direction I want to go with this car yet. I've done a lot of reading on the ls3 conversion, entertained kmiata.com's K series conversion, and heavily favored keeping the factory engine with some enhancements.

I've got a decent sized garage at the house to do my work in, with my most recent purchase for the garage being a Hobart Handler 190 setup with solid core wire and 75/25 AR/Co2 gas. Learning to weld has been a fun experience for me, and will certainly be a key factor in any major engine conversions and things of that nature.

I'd love to reconnect with the Miata owners in the Columbia/surrounding area, and maybe attend a track day or two.

Thanks!

As an update - This Mazdaspeed was sold just before I moved to Austin, TX. I now have a 1996 Miata with a 2000 engine swap.

So now a smaller lighter car that is almost as quick as the first.

Something like that! I enjoyed the speed though. Much more comfortable than my AWR mount, swapped NA with rattles!
