hello. welcome to the forum. do your research. See you next year when you have legitimate questions after you've exhausted the search function.

In the mean time, you can make a build thread and post pictures of cats, food, and parts.

quick question what section would I ask about timing on a vvt engine for turbo on stock ecu ? Everything I have read is people just talking sh*t to people about them being retarded and or stuff to put a vvt in a na miata which is not what I am looking for thanks in advance. But look like either way I ask for help is going to be far and few.

MSM engine is not VVT, so that ECU won't work. 2001 engine is not turbo, so that ECU won't work. Therefore, it is not a sensible question. Go back to post #2.

Everything you want has been done here alot. And there's a ton of info.
The first thing everybody will say is ditch the stock ecu. Spend some. Money on an ms3. And then get enjoyment out of your car.

Stock ecu will just give you tears.

msm is not vvt I know. And I am not trying to use the Msn ecu with the 02 motor. I am want to use the longblock per say in the 02 car and yes magesquirt is they way I am going. Just don't wanna buy a megasquirt of the 02 with vvt when if it's not going to work without vvt. And I have searched for this answer maybe I didn't type it in right to find the post. A lot of post I have found is for the na cars

OK. Yes an MS3 with Ex, like Reverant's Basic or Enhanced Megasquirt, bought for an '02 will certainly be able to control boost and VVT. It can also work without the VVT. All that is programmable in TunerStudio.

And, in your question, you specified a stock ECU. This implies stock ECU. Perhaps you meant Off the Shelf, non-custom?

If you PM Reverant, with exactly what you wish to do, short term and long term, he can both advise you, and customize as needed. However, a vanilla, '02 version of his MS3 will work just fine. Even the NB1 version of his Basic has the ability to control VVT, but it is not directly wired to the stock harness as an NB2 version would be.

For what you want to do (start with MSM, the move the VVT head (that is when you change to the '99 head gasket and do the re-route), then keep the original car's harness.

I said stock ecu I was wanting to run the voodoo box since I and only running 6-8 psi for a while until I got the ms all figured out. I don't have any plans on run much more then that. But it seems like ms is the only way

Can't ask doo doo box questions. You get these answer no reason as to why it's a doo doo box.
