FI noob from Houston-area Texas.

Hello all. Yet another Texan joining the ranks of miataturbo.net. I've actually lurked for a while and finally bothered to register a few months ago. I am still mostly just lurking and trying to slowly absorb information without getting too overwhelmed, because although I am not new to working on cars I have never really delved too deeply into the engine tuning aspect of it and am still very much a noob in the realm of forced induction. I'm finally getting to the point where I'm about ready to install some sort of engine management (as a precursor to forced induction) and I might start posting questions before too long, so I figured that it would be good to introduce myself.

There's really not much to know about me, but for what it's worth here are some boring details that may prove relevant at some point. I'm a member of the Houston Miata Club and I've been a member on miata.net (though I rarely visit any more) and clubroadster.net for a couple of years now. I'm pretty comfortable wrenching on cars and am usually not afraid to fabricate or hack something up if I have a decent plan for modifying it. I'm a pretty easy-going guy and I generally try to research things before asking questions, so hopefully I won't incur too much of the mt.net wrath that I hear so much about on cr.net.

Oh, and here's a photo of my car:

So if any of you happen to be driving around South of Houston and see me, be sure to honk and wave like a maniac. :pitlab:

Welcome aboard.

Nice first post. I presume you've already read the FAQs.

Welcome.

I'm on the complete opposite side of town...but will watch for that niiiice car you've got.

May see you at an HMC meet or event.

The CR guys don't like us because we communicate in complete sentences instead of grunts and farts, we require that assertions are supported by proof, and we believe that a well executed late apex is a superior demonstration of capability than smashing an oil pan on a manhole cover.

I hope you find this to be a challenging and informative place to spend your time. I also look forward to your contributions to the discussions.

Welcome.

Welcome to MT.Net.

The wrath MT wrath you mentioned is due to our lack of tolerance to bad attitudes and terrible grammar. If you have any questions about turbocharging, racing, engine building or engine management systems: this IS the place to be. As long as you do so in a polite and non-offensive manner, you will be helped.

What are you plans for the car? It looks beautiful, so I don't expect you to make into a track rat. Atleast I hope not.

I think I should just copy this phrase for any future welcoming posts

BTW shooter; since Paul and Artie are down here right now; guess what you're going to be receiving pretty soon?

Let's hope not!

At least you'll be able to see them while smoking a fine Dominican cigar ;)

Welcome. You should come to Angleton this weekend and meet a few of us. We will be at Motorsports Ranch on Saturday doing an event. I am in Pearland and anything that I can help you with please let me know.

What he said. Except I'm a little farther away. We may have met before, I'm not sure.

Thanks for the friendly welcome, guys!

The pictures are probably pretty deceiving as white is a forgiving color to photograph, but my ultimate plans are to bump up the power a bit while keeping it primarily a street car. I would like to start doing some HPDE events at some point, but it hasn't been a high enough priority to make it happen yet.

I'm planning to drop by and watch/socialize if I can make the time.

I think we met at Matt Kock's turbo-miata day a little over a year ago. You've got a red NA, right? Edit: Yes, you do. I just noticed your sig. :P
