Hello to all my name's Jake (Jake, Jacob, Jackass..whatever you care for). I'm from south Georgia around the Albany area where miatas are what **** drive and you're only fast if you drive something with at least eight cylinders (that your dad usually has bought for you as a first vehicle 
). I've owned Chrissy for about three months now and bought her for $1700 off a guy who just put both his daughters through college and them driving the car. She's a five speed wholly stock, except a hard dog single hoop, 95 red miata.
I'm currently a college student (18) perfecting my welding and planning on graduating and moving out west for work. I'm a fairly smart cookie, research the hell out of things before i speak, and try to form my own opinions from my own observations.
Pretty much just joining because 1. in case i run into an issue that i can't find an answer to and 2. i like you people after reading all 12 pages of the ebay turbo kits thread
I got into miatas from a buddy that bought one because his car got towed for lack of registration and he had to buy a dd immediately. He buys a miata, I ride in it..deal sealed had to buy my own
Car plans are an initial suspension, wheel, and tire setup because all of the above are pretty much **** currently. looking at getting some Raceland ultimos (no matter how many people scream riceland i know people personally that build cars for a living and swear by the things for how cheap they are and considering I'm on stock came-with-the-car springs..yeah). I'd like to build my engine and go with a real turbo kit, not a hit or miss maybe quality, but an FM turbo kit. Undecided on which one, I'd like to track it on road courses, but also smoking the average redneck at redlights just feels like a necessity. However, that's a bit of a ways off for my current price range, but I'll wait instead of i has to hav boooost nooowwww must by cheep ebeighs.

I'll take the kick to the dick heh. Broke college student, so from listening to my racing buddys, real ones not honda d-bags with cut springs and a 5" exhaust, racelands aren't absolutely awful..yes i've read plenty. Once i have a real job making $100,000+ a year ill blow a hell of a lot on an actual suspension and weld up my own cage. Not going to be racing on them so yeah. The bar came with the car and i won't be ditching it anytime soon. Driving on the interstate every day in windy (sometimes rainy windy) conditions plus semis that have come rather close to ending my life it seems nice to have SOME sort of safety. It's welded well to the actual frame. And lastly for the steelies, they don't clean up well and weigh wayy too much (18 lbs? yeah 18 lbs). Other than that I love my car quite a bit more than my parents automatic 01 camry LE i drove through highschool. I've clocked about four hours reading today..time for more

They don't especially "recommend" them. They ride and tell me my springs are shot and i tell them I know. Something to last for a couple years is all i really need. Lowering a hair is a nice factor, and a much smoother ride for someone that drives at least two hours M-F.

Hmmm maybe i should mention I USED THAT FANCY SEARCH BAR CALLED GOOGLE AND FOUND THIS SIGHT TOWARDS THE TOP OF THE RACELAND REVIEWS https://www.miataturbo.net/suspensio...ilovers-44567/
Reminder I'm not tracking it yet and probably won't without a suspension worth at least over a grand.

Eh, the problem is at ~400 you are 1/2 to a good performing and riding suspension setup. The formula outlined earlier always seems to be a winner, bilsteins, cheap springs, NB tophats, good bumpstops = good riding and performing suspension.
With the bilsteins you can have them re valved down the road and have a GREAT suspension.

Learn from us kid. While it may seem, in the short term, better to go the cheap coilover route; you'll hate that you wasted your money in the long term. You can do a proper suspension for not very much more if you just work the street corner a little longer.

^^ No one here will look down on you for using stock suspension until you can afford something nice.

Used MSM or "Hard S" Bilsteins have been seen around here for $2-300 at times. Springs are $37 apiece in the rate of your choice brand new from Summit. A set of four adjustable spring perches can be had on Ebay for $60 if you know where to look.
I'm saying, study, and wait for the perfect bargain to pop up on the forum. Get it one piece at a time. And get it in such a way that it is upgradable.
^Probably great for a Hondabishi, but ******* awful ratios for a Miata. Seriously. On any wet road or in spirited driving the front roll couple of those rates will have you heading *** first into the woods. I am not joking or embellishing. If you don't yet understand FRC and how it computed on a Miata and why it is VERY important yet, please step away from the "buy it now" button for a week or so and get your learnin' on.
I went to Valdosta State for a while and have family from Cordele, Sylvester, and Thomasville, so I understand the car culture that surrounds you.
I'm willing to guide you if you will listen. But the Racelands are generically set up and are not actually car specific. Those spring rates will make a Miata unstable and dangerous at speed. The car can swap ends faster than you can say "dip cup".

For budget suspension, look at megan ezstreets or FM Vmaxx. For the ezstreets you are only $200 or less over ricelands and they wont feel like a blown caddy after carrying around gilbert grapes mom for 15years.

Still working on figuring things out like how the hell i can find several different parts and make them all fit together and know they all fit together and go on my car and work well without extensive fabrication work before i buy all of it. On top of that where to buy these things.
just to add apparently raceland sells something that works rather well with a subaru sti thats running around 600 hp..none of the guys i know care for hondas and ******* hate honda fanboys.
