First Post/Miata Noob

Hello I am very interested in buying a Miata, so I am here trying to research everything i can about them before I make my decision on which year to hunt for.

Ultimately I will pick the Miata that has the most available aftermarket and easiest to turbo. (I really love the pop-up headlight ones the best tho)

I currently own a Mazdaspeed Protege and I love it!

I hope that I can find everything I need on this site (preferably in a sticky) and that I will have a amazing Miata in the next few years!

Welcome to the site.

The Miata.net garage has a ton of good info, that would be a good read.

You can search all this crap out yourself, but i'll tell you that you want a 94 miata. Look for one with an LSD. Will save you time, and a little bit of effort in the long run.

Or a 95. IIRC the only meaningful difference was that 95s don't have a real oil pressure gauge but that is easy enough to swap out for a junkyard unit.

Yup, I heard that late 95 blocks didn't have an oil feed on the exhaust side... But my 95 block does. So IDK how true that is. Swapping over my real OPG was easy and simple.

Thanks for all the advice!
I was thinking 94 and up because i think the msm turbo kit will bolt on....right?
Any way turbo kit, injectors, fuel management, done.

Good ideas and bad ideas here...

Stick around the site, do some reading / some research. Figure out what you really want to do. And what you CAN do for that matter.

I'm no stranger to forums,i understand how it makes people mad to ask a question without searching first.

MSM parts are garbage. Forget that idea right now. There are better solutions.

Welcome to the forum. Look for the DIY FAQ sticky.

See! Nothing is factory anymore! I'm so right that it is wrong.

Oh I'm not saying you weren't, most people should know that plastic pipes and side mount are not the best....not to mention weak rods ha
