Greetings from Birmingham

Hi, I'm Chris!
I sold my Mini Cooper S back in the winter, but I discovered I couldn't live without something interesting in the garage. I've been hunting for an early '90s Miata for a change of pace--I was really looking for a BRG special edition, but I ended up high bidder on a blue '91 that's had the 1.8 engine swap. I think the previous owner was planning to create a track day car, but he (college student) decided there weren't enough seats in the car to haul friends around.
I'm going to pick up the car this weekend, so I'll probably be prowling the boards for information. I know my first step is probably going to be sourcing an AC compressor and other parts to restore AC to the car--I know the lack of AC is probably better for power, but it IS Alabama in the summer time.

Good thinking. Welcome.

Seems to be a lot of folks from Alabama on here lately. I'm originally from Virginia but I'm stationed at the arsenal in Huntsville right now. You'll like it here as long s you can figure out the search tools and read to gather the information you need rather than making 20 threads full of stupid-ass questions a week.

Glad to see you've already filled out your location and signature without being asked too as well. All you've gotta do now is get some pictures up for us to see (this forum loves pictures whether they're of the car or GF is up to you :giggle:

The forum

I was in Virginia for years--I lived in Fredericksburg from 1997 to 2005. Grew up in South Carolina.
I'm somewhat used to this forum software because when I was driving the Mini, the "enthusiast" site I visited used the same stuff. I still find it a little annoying and user-unfriendly to navigate, but it looks like this site's a little better organized than many.
I'll definitely post pictures when I get the car. I'm going up to Chattanooga to get it Friday/Saturday.
