I just wanted to say hello. I picked up a rust free '94 from my neighbor with lots of engine problems. The valve seals were shot and the crank keyway was mangled due to a poor timing belt job.

I spent a few weekends installing a 50K mile Escort GT engine, which is essentially the identical 1.8. This was well documented over on m.net. It now runs like a different car. After selling my old long block, I have a net of $125 into the engine.

I just picked up a 2004 vintage 1.6 JRSC that I'm going to adapt to fit on my 1.8 (I know, this is a turbo forum), but I had one of the original Sebring kits back in the late 90's on my 1990 model. This is my third Miata.

I'm no noob when it comes to building cars. However, I'll admit I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to the advancements on the boosted Miatas. Back when I did my '90 a MSD timing control box and FPR was state of the art.

I spent three years building the pictured car from scratch. I'm sure not everyone will like it, but it should give me a little cred. (You can see it in the background on the lift in the Miata picture) :)

The Mustang sits on my lift and the Miata lives under it. I'm sure I'm going to have questions for you guys as the supercharger project comes along.

Howdy. Nice looking muskrat. What size motor is in it?

It's a balanced 351 Windsor ('74 block) with Victor Jr Heads and a 670 cfm Holley double pumper carb, Mallory distributor and an MSD 6AL ignition box. I have a really big aluminum big block radiator to keep it cool.

The trans is a T5Z 5 speed, custom driveshaft with a 3.73 Traction-Lok 9" rear. It also has Vintage Air A/C that my wife made me put on. ;)

Built the engine from scratch in my garage from a long block out of a van that I picked up on craigslist for $20! Of course, there was quite a bit of machine work....

The engine is coming back out in a few weeks for some changes.

Nice. It needs an 8-71 sticking out of the hood though. LOL!

I'll add my welcome as well. Very nice looking cars. If you haven't heard of it or been yet, there's a place called Fuel down on the river that has a car meet every Saturday morning. It's a great way to meet people who share a love for cars (and get to see some really cool cars too).

I've been trying to get my dad to clean his 2 1/2 car garage out so we can put that exact lift in it. I even said I'd buy it if he makes the room. After working on a lift 50hrs a week, it drives me crazy to have to lay on my back like the common folk.:giggle:

Thanks for the compliment flounder. That lift was some of the best money I have spent. I bought it from Greg Smith Equipment in Indy and brought it home on a trailer behind my SUV. If you need details or detailed pics of it, PM me. This was his house brand lift. It's very sturdy.
