Greetings from New Zealand

Hi People

I recently caught the highly-contagious Miata bug after drinking too much and going shopping on line. Soon I'd passed it to my children (now both with 91 models) and my father who bought an NC. With a bad history of fiddling with race bikes and boats, I suspect it's only a matter of time before I'm convinced it'd be stupid not to turbo my '97 NA.

Working on the basis that "if some is good, more must be better" I'd like to build up a system that can be upgraded. The simple route seems to be an FM Voodoo II, but the cast manifold offends me. This isn't to say I'm sucked in by the sparkly tube manifolds on Ebay which look nice but look fragile.

So, forgive me for asking a question which has eluded my research, but is there a readily available manifold with equal length tubes that has proven durability?

Thanks for your help.

What do you plan to do with the car?

Also start reading. The answers to your questions have been posted many many times.

Thanks for that. I have been doing a little reading and while there is a wealth of information on this site, wading through the rudeness (to put it mildly) is discouraging. I was hoping someone might be able to give me advice on a readily obtainable, durable manifold with equal length pipes.

A) Prepare yourself for more rudeness
B) Search using terms "artech" "absurdflow" "tse turbo kit"
C) Read the Epic Nuts and Bolt thread
D) Cool accent! Are you from Australia??!

Thanks very much for that Jack.

New Zealand is where I'm from - not far from Australia.

As for the rudeness - it seems so unnecessary and, in my experience, reflects far more on the inadequacies of the person doing the talking than the recipient of the rudeness. Anyone investing time here complaining about being asked tiresome questions is being insincere.

Thanks again for your help Jack

A bit of humo(u)r. If you ever travel to the States, you'll get that question a lot as most folk here can't tell the difference. :)

Now now. This isn't a "stop by and get a quick answer about something" kind of site. This is an encyclopedia of knowledge of turbocharging and tracking Miatas.

If we just told you the answer to every question in your noob thread you would end up dumber than if you researched and found the answers yourself.

Besides, you don't want some random guy on the internet telling you which manifold to run. There are a lot of smart people on this site, but they are not perfect. Don't let them make decisions for you, make them yourself. You don't know any of us, so why would you trust our judgement with a really important part of your setup?

Also you still haven't mentioned your plans. If you aren't building the engine, an equal length long tube manifold is probably overkill as you won't be able to take advantage of the better flow at the top end without forcibly ejecting things from the block.
