Hi everybody
I thought it would be polite for me to introduce myself instead of just creeping around the way i usually do.. So, the name is Otto and i'm a Finnish engineering student with a Miata which i bought last spring. It's a '91 US model and has got aircon and cruise, which i believe is not that common. Here's what i've installed/done this far Koni sport shocks and springs Volk Rays Mesh Superfine rims with yokohama s-drive tires (195/50 R15) Big brake conversion Hel steel braided brake lines, crappy brake pads waiting to be replaced Refurbished brake calipers T.R. Lane roll bar Custom wind blocker Reverant built Megasquirt 2 NB 1.8 injectors (265cc) Ethanol resistant fuel hoses K&N apollo air filter --> E85 conversion Here's a pic of what it used to look like before i took the rear end down one more centimeter: https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1344501675 |
The car looks clean. But I'm wondering why you have the megasquirt and getting ready for e85? less fuel costs or getting ready for a turbo?
|
Actually i'm already running on E85. The reason is fairly simply the cost of fuel. Regular gas is 1,65€/l (and rising) whereas E85 made out of bio waste is currently 0.99€/l. Being a student i cannot afford to build a proper turbo configuration. Moreover, the legislation regarding modified cars is rather strict around here, so adding a turbo would throw the power way over the legal limit which is 20% above the "top of the line version". Also, this car is also my daily driver so i'd rather keep it reliable than shave couple of seconds off the lap time.

I understand that well. I think Denmark also has this absurd rule about the 20%. really clean car though, enjoy :)

Welcome, [Ode]. Check out the Miata Gallery and post up some pics!
