Greetings from NY!

Hello everyone!

After browsing this forum for about a year I'm finally joining!

My name's Ben, 23, and of course I drive a 1993 Mazda Miata that I've owned for about a year and a half. Purchased in Feb, 2016. 3rd owner, with 125k. 2 months later my engine spun a bearing, and not knowing much about cars besides the basics (oil change, brakes) I decided it'd be a great idea to pull the engine in my garage. Finally got it running that summer with a "new" depot engine and trans w/ around 50-60k on it.

Not much done apart from the basics. Running a Manzo catback exhaust with stock cat hollowed, Raceland Primo coilovers, F1R wheels 15x8, Megasquirt PNP2 ECU, Innovate Wideband, as well as a few cosmetic upgrades.

I plan on boosting it over the winter, just trying to figure out a turbo set up. Would like to make around 200hp, but debating doing a NB trans/drivetrain upgrade and make much more.

I'd like to think I'm not a complete noob, but I am definitely here to learn and talk with all you guys so I can be a more educated Miata-er.

Looking forward to meeting you all!

Nice setup, get rid of the racelands though! DIY Bilstein coilovers is what all the cool kids are doing.

An awesome setup for the 1.8s, if you're not looking for a kit: eBay "TacoTaco" cast manifold + SR20 T25 turbo, 2.5 exhaust. This should get you to 200 whp easily.

I'm actually pretty pleased with mine. I think because they're the primos so he adjustable dampening helps fine tune a little.

And I have a 1.6, but one of the guys I work with did suggest getting an SR20 turbo.

1.6 turbo, Racelands, SR20 turbo, and max slammage.

The dream!

lol if only it were so easy. If it makes you feel any better, I am no longer slammed like that anymore. Going to go for more of a track stance.

Lowered but without the crazy camber. Or whatever the kids calls it

concealer404 10-03-2017 02:49 PM

We don't call it anything.

Welcometo the forum.

The 1.6 diff is weak and fails at stock power levels. You'll need a stronger clutch before adding power also.

You're not a kid. I think you fall squarely in the "old farts" category.

So I've heard. Im looking at buying a totaled NB right now to swap over the trans and drivetrain for that reason
