guess I'll say hello

I've only read a handful of posts here, but so far, I think I'll enjoy being here.

My car is a '91 mariner blue, base package, with the addition of the (crappy) viscous lsd, and Air Conditioning. The car is sitting in my shop right now waiting for it's new engine.. I bought it with a blown motor for a song, and I've been busy, and just haven't had the time for it recently, but my schedule's clearing up, so hopefully I'll get started in the next few weeks. Aside from that, I've gotta source a few parts to replace the ratty interior, and get the drivers window functioning again, and she should be on the road.

In the future I'm hoping to add a small turbo, but as my budget doesn't allow for a good kit from begi or FM, I'll just have to keep collecting parts as time and finances allow.

I plan to retain the A/C if at all possible, as the heat and humidity here in Florida can be a nightmare without it.

Guess I'll say welcome :giggle:

I see in your location that you're in N. Fl and "Guatemala"; care to explain?

I like your plans for the car. And a car without A/C in Fl and other hot places is indeed a no no.

Read the FAQs. Really good info there.

Let us know how we can help you.

Some pics of your car would be nice.

I guess I'll say thanks ;)

Right now I'm in N Fl, and will be moving to Guatemala in the relatively near future, (4-6 weeks-ish?) Hopefully coming back to the states in July, finishing the car, and driving it back to Guatemala in August. Hopefully the swine flu stuff will be taken care of by then :eek4:

One of the motivators for turbo charging the car is to be able to drive in the mountains in Guate'. The drivers there aren't exactly the best in the world as far as courtesy is concerned, and I'd like to be able to get the hell out of the way, when necessary. I want a relatively small turbo/low boost to keep myself out of trouble while I'm at it, driving on the side of a mountain without a guard rail can be an interesting endeavor for someone with no real mountain driving experience. I come from Fl after all, and the highest point in the state is something like 364 ft above sea level.

I've been reading some of the Faq's, and plan to continue down that path.

Hmm, pics would be good.. I'll have to break out the camera the next time I'm working on the car and snap some, hopefully this week sometime. (but it might not be, I've got a lot of irons in the fire right now)Maybe in the mean time I can find a few of the photos I took before... no telling. (Though the photos will be nothing to look at really, the car's a mess)

And I should mention... when I say "in my Shop" I really mean under a tarp... nothing like installing an engine in the front yard to make friends with the neighbors :fawk:

lol.

I like your plans.

BTW, I know what you mean by Guatemalan drivers. No different down here. ;)

Novel concept, this improvement thing, could you explain that? I just thought I was throwing good money after bad... ;)

Well, I think the Drivers window problem should be solved by sometime next week now, I just won an ebay auction for the regulator that I need... I'll have to make sure that I keep them better greased than the previous owner did...

Darn.. forgot pictures again... hmmm, I'll put the camera with my tools so I remember it next time...
