Hallo from Las vegas

Hi to everyone, my name is Ben I am retired and live in Las Vegas. I always liked the classic Miata and finally decided that I should get one. After looking a while I settled on a 96 M with a JR supercharger I wasn’t looking for a supercharged car, but I thought it would be interesting and maybe fun. The car runs fine, but in my daily driving, I rarely needed the extra power. Then I thought that if remove the supercharger that has been there for a while, and restore the engine to stoke condition I would get more life from it. After I get used to the car and became more more familiar with Miata I will decide how to proceed . So I did just that, and so far the car runs great. I became a member to learn more about Miata and get different ideas and perspectives.

Hi, welcome. My name is Grant and I also live in Las Vegas right now. I want to kinda start off by saying a supercharger doesn't necessarily induce a lack in reliability.
If you don't have an aftermarket ECU(like a megasquirt) it will have things like idle droop or occasional stalls, as well as less power because the powercard basically dumps fuel.
A lot of people are for turbos now, hence the site. They are a more practical option and can give better power numbers as well as reliability as long as you have realistic budget/power expectations.
If you get curious, check out MKTurbo. I would recommend considering that if you get the "power bug", but don't forget that aftermarket ECU.

Are you only going to daily drive your car or have you considered autox or anything like that?
Reading through a few build threads will get you accustomed to how different people(with different goals) modify their miatas accordingly.
