Figured I would add my observations
1. Even with the water pump vanes gone, the vehicle did not overheat. 2. My timing was a initially 10* atdc after timing belt replacement. (W scribed CAS) So have your timing lite ready! 3. Uh |
welome!

This is probably a good time for me to chime in with a Public Service Announcement;
Miata Brethren who reside in Northern Climes, do yourselves a favor and buy Southern Cars. It's worth the extra hassle/cost in the long run to transport one of our beautiful, solid and plentiful Miatae to your frigid, road salt encrusted Purgatory. I grew up in The North, and just sort of accepted that cars would eventually just become crunchy and disappear into piles of flaky rust. Then I moved to Florida, where I found that I was wrong. (Well, unless one lives directly on the beach, but if that's the case, Fuck You, you can afford to replace it.) I've owned MANY a Miata down here in the land of Golden Sunshine, and have never seen ANY rust on ANY of them, including a leaky beater. It smelled a little funky, but when we re-did the carpets the only corrosion was on that flimsy gas tank cover plate. |
Oh, and welcome to the forum. I admire your tenacity, looks like you're doing good work.
