Default [phenixmt] NA miata g60 supercharger

Hi everyone,

I'm Marc, 25 years old.

I came here to find some good informations to transform an atmo 1.6L 1991 miata to a supercharged version.

I started a rare project (maybe the only one in the world): install a VW G60 supercharger

I'm pretty close to the first start but I will need some tricks to tune it well (I got a MSPnP).

My Car:

What the engine look likes:

Interesting...how does a scroll-compressor supercharger compare to the more (Miata-)common Roots lobed compressor supercharger?

Something like this:

air enter by the top then exit by the middle.

It works at less RPM than a roots but the air volume is more important. (it must gives 10 psi)

That is a very interesting choice in a supercharger setup. Never seen someone put a g60 on a mx5.

First test drive yesterday.

Rev limiter set at 2500rpm for safety, I drive for 2 miles and everything seems OK.

The G supercharger give 7 psi at 2500rpm

Thats awesome. How much hp is it going to make? Cool project for a 25 year old, I'm 21 and hoping to maybe ditch my mazda 6 soon and get a Miata. Hopefully turbo it.

Anyway, good luck on the build!

Thanks

The car won't go after 4000 rpm, I think its because of a lack of gazoline.

So, yesterday, I've installed 305cc injectors from Toyota Supra.

Road test this weekend.

That's a very tidy install you've done.

If you're getting 7psi by 3.5k, you're going to need much much larger injectors than 305cc....

Needs more pictures posting too

Thing sound starved for air in the video when you rev it...did you plumb the supercharger backwards?

Well, I plan to install 600cc injectors but I found those used supra injectors for 50$ so I told to myself "why not, just try it for a while"
I want to go step by step

For info,
my work is inspire by the Rotrex supercharger kit (the throttle is blown like a turbo kit, not like a Jackson racing kit).
So I've installed a dump valve which I can set up to regulate the pressure from 5psi to 30psi.

If I still got lack of fuel, I will shut down the pressure of the G60 with the BOV untill I buy bigger injector.

Picture of the actual look of the engine:

I didn't mount it backwards. In the first video, the ilde wasn't set up good.

I don't think it's starving for air, listen my BOV... (too much noisy, I'm sick of it)
(10 days old video)
