Hello All from Sarasota Florida!

Although I have been on the forum for a good bit, I am finally starting my noob thread. I had decided when I signed up that I would do alot of reading before I start posting too much, although I had posted in another thread...oops!

I have a 1996 Miata. I have had it for almost four years now. I got it with 57,000 miles and used it for my daily commute while I was in College. Now I have 133,XXX miles and the motor is still strong. Not much has been done to it. I removed the soft top and got a hard top (love it!), replaced the factory exhaust manifold with a Racing Beat header which I got a steal on! I have a set of Toyota COPs that are going in soon. Otherwise it is mainly stock.

My plans are to MegaSquirt in the next few months, that is where I spend the majority of the reading time on the forum. Then, I want to go DIY turbo, been reading a good bit on that too. I like to think I am good with working on the car, but only time will tell.

Welcome dothedoo. I hate when someone makes the effort to introduce themselves only to be ignored.

I too own a 96 but mine has 61,000 miles on it. :giggle:

Whenever you get a chance post some pics of your car.

Thanks for the welcomes!

As for pictures, I just remembered that I have not taken any in along time! But I will link an old one.

Since that picture I have added the Hard Top and moded my front end by rear ending a jeep.

My COPs conversion was good for 4-5MPG. I routinely get about 26MPG now if I keep the EBC off, but haven't seen a tank less than 24MPG since I got them. Previously I was seeing 22-23MPG. I've got the gap at .040 now and am thinking about going a little bigger next time I'm in there.

You might be able to open them up even more since naturally aspirated.
