Hello, from both coasts.

So like i totally want lambo doorz on my miata

Naw, just kidding. Name's Tyler, I'm 19, from California attending school in South Carolina (Clemson U). I have a '96 Mustang GT (redfire) and a '95 Miata leather package (white). Mustang was my first car, bought with my own money about 6months after having my license. Took it to SC with me, where I discovered autocross, and had lots of fun. I got back home summer after freshman year and was immediately tired of driving around my dad's old commuter Geo, so I went out and got myself a Miata.

It's in pretty decent shape, runs okay (some hesitation when cold, but always starts and is fine when warmed up). It has what I assume is factory-original suspension (140k miles) and all-season tires the previous owner put on right before selling it to me. Original plan was to putt around and autocross in it during the summers when I was home from college, but now I'm home for 8 months on a co-op (extended internship) and so some modifications are on the way. I picked up a set of $100 OEM hollow rims from CL, on which I will put falken rt-615's ($196 for 4? cant beat it). A friend of mine is selling me his spec miata setup for cheap, so that will go on soon as well. At some point I would like to add some kind of forced induction, or a v8, because - lets face it - without it, the miata is utterly gutless.

I notice a couple threads down there are some folks from the upstate SC area - I'd encourage y'all to check out the Clemson Sports Car Club. They/we hold autocrosses monthly that are cheap and offer more seat time than most (usually 4-5 70+ second runs). The next one is on 1/30 so y'all should go :P Videos available on request.
*first post is a shameless plug, I know, but attendance is hurting at these events. they're awesome*
