Hello from College Station

Hi everyone, been lurking here for over a year now and finally decided to post. I have a bit of experience working on cars, repaired/engine swapped plenty of 626's years ago for my siblings and a 94 protege for myself. Helped a friend with a LS FD swap recently and decided to get a project car for myself. I purchased Toddcod's turbo 93 back in August and am just now getting around to working on it.

A quick rundown on what I believe the car has;
JDM 1.6 put in the car a few years ago, unknown mileage but good compression numbers.

t3/t4 churbo that I am looking to replace with a .42/.48 t3, Godspeed seems to be the cheapest option for an internal wastegate so I suppose I'll get that eventually.

3" center exit exhaust, seems ok except the joints are only welded on the bottom half.

Haltech e6k, not sure what to do with this. Im having a lot of trouble finding a computer with a serial port and the usb to serial adapters dont seem to work. Engine is running very rich at the moment, seeing 10:1 on my AEM gauge most of the time, best I see is 11.5-12:1 at highway speeds, dont even want to talk about what my spark plugs looked like. So my plan on that is to sell the haltech and go brain or reverant MS since there seems to be a lot of support for that in the miata world.

old KYB AGX's... terrible. Waiting on some money to change this but current plan is VMAXX or tein advanced if I can save enough.

wheels and tires need to be replaced, pretty set on some 6UL 15x9 with Rivals.

I have a supermiata 1.6 organic, ss brakelines and extended clutch line waiting to be installed and rock auto cheapo discs and stoptech pads on the way as well as a TB/WP kit.

As soon as that all comes in I will be pulling engine/trans to change clutch and depower the rack FM style. Does anyone have suggestions on what else I should consider changing while I am in there? I know that is a slippery slope but I would like some ideas besides motor mounts, which look and feel fine.

Looking forward to posting here for some time as I obviously have a lot of work and money ahead of me here.

Welcome to the forum.

My newest laptop didn't have native serial ports but I was able to get a docking station for it that had a serial port and a few additional USB and other ports.

Have a look at the cam sensor and swap the o-ring if it's looking weepy, also check out the rubber coolant cap for leaks or cracks. List looks like a good start so far.

I'm going to be in your neck of the woods for a couple of days next week. What's the best place for a good local beer?

Thanks everyone Ill check out that adapter and buy some caps and cas o ring from napa I guess. I saw the PO swap the CAS when I picked the car up but not sure how to tell what condition it's in.
Funny you ask I actually bar tend at an Irish pub in Bryan called Murphy's law, plenty of good whiskey and beer. But if you're looking for a local brew I'd recommend doing the new republic brewery tour, Not the best beer but it's cheap and fun.

Quick question for Brain or anyone else who knows. Is the DIYPNP delphi 56 pin kit any different from the nippon 76? I would like to keep my current wiring that is set up for the delphi/haltech unless somehow changing out the wiring harness to a stock nippon would be easier.

Good>cheap and fun. I'll head into Murphy's if I have some free time.
