hi,my names kieran im from southern ireland,i have 2 eunos roadsters and one mx5(or miata as ye call them).one is a 1995 1.8 with smoothened bodywork, nissan s15 front bumper, civic sideskirts and lots of other little bits, this is currently being stripped and built into the first mx5 drift car in ireland,it has just been fitted with drift spec XYZ coilovers, harness's and hydraulic handbrake,i've still to fit a turbo and rollcage.my other roadster is a 1990 1.6(my daily driver) it has cusco coilovers, underchassis braces, strutbrace, performance manifold and exhaust,HKS induction kit and a few other little bits too,i also have a spare 1.8 1995 eunos with hardtop, tein coilovers(missing one corner) and low profile headlights, the plan is to make the drift car and the road car look very alike and turbo both cars but its a slow process, had hoped to get a few sponsors to help with the build but its hard to get them,it looks like im doing it on my own even though i already had one of the cars featured in a big magazine here and they more or less promised me a double feature when the two cars are finished, plus another mag here is interested in featuring them too,you would think companies here would love that advertising:dunno: anyway let me know what ye think?i know there nothing like some of yere miatas:bowdown: but hopefully in a year or two il be drifting beside some silvias and skylines:x: Attachment 202022 Attachment 202023 Attachment 202024 Attachment 202025 Attachment 202026

Did you cut the stock bumper and that one and mate them together?

no just cut the s15 one and rivited it onto the standard miata one, then fibreglassed and filled it,so it all looked smooth

And I will pipe in here to state for the record that his 1.6 is WAY WAY WAY faster than his 1.8.

It's a Jap import and from driving my 1.6 turbo at 6PSI (165bhp) - his 1.6 is way bloody faster than any non-turbo'd miata here in Ireland !

We still don't know the history of the car or what's been done to the engine but it has to be pushing 140 - 150bhp at the wheels at the very least.

As we say in Ireland - I shit you not !

(Translation = I do not lie)

hello from florida. nice work on the bumper

mx5ideways 10-19-2010 03:30 PM

i haven't done much to the drift car mainly cause of time and money,i have done abit to my 1.6 eunos(my daily driver) though,i've cleaned up the engine abit, got a 6 puck cerametalic stage 2 1.8 clutch, lightweight 1.8 Jun flywheel, fitted 1.8 brakes with EBC brakepads and stainless brakelines, fitted 1.8 LSD,also have nearly everything to turbo it too,got a GReedy manifold, downpipe, saab injectors,E-Manage blue and harness, ordering an intercooler thurs too,all ive left really is the turbo lines and the turbo.i was thinking of getting one of ARTechs T25 flanged downpipes, what do ye think?im not looking for very big power as its a daily driver but close to 200bhp would be nice

Well if they are even all the way across the flywheel and clutch and they say its sold then I don't see any worries.
