hello my nace is chris i am 21 and just got my first miata! great car not to bad its a 1991 5speed 240xxx miles needs work but starting some were. i am not new to car by any means just new to mazda lol but have a few ? i need answered i saw a large leak under my car the other day went out and checked it and it was clear but oily didnt really have a smell but i live on a farm to hard to smell any thing for that matter any ways i started looking around saw oil on my transmission and parked it and drove the other car to work came home to day and kinda got bored so i pulled the transmission to check there first and what did i find ! well a mess the bellhousing was all black and oily in side but all my seals look good it leak a big mess after a 3 hour drive and then quit but if it started mite as well stop it any ideas what this could be and i have been reading up the past few days on this i have been burning/losing oil but that was after my trip that i checked it and it does have 240xxx miles so i thought it would burn it but top it off and all good so i know its not the cas plus been keeping a eye on that . one big leak one day then it stop while i have the tranny off any thing i should look for.for a clue or what thanks for the help and plans to sr20det swap in the next 6 months and all custom work done by me and my work !

The only place oil can come from inside the bell-housing is the rear main seal. Replace it.

And yes, capitalize the first word in a sentence, it really makes stuff hard to read, especially in a a huge-ass paragraph.

I honestly had a horrible time reading that. It hurt.

Please try and use a period, or at least a comma so I can tell what words go together.

Might want to look into miata.net as well since they might be more understanding.
