Hello all and Merry Christmas Eve! I am the proud owner of a 1991 Miata with 90k original miles on it. I am looking to turbo it (duh) and came here to expand my knowledge and make some turbo pals. I plan on keeping the power relatively low considering this is my first time doing anything like this. I am piecing together a DIY kit which I know will be a bit more hands on but I am willing to take my time and learn things. I attached a pic of the current build list I have started. What am I missing? What should I change? Yes, I understand this is a very inexpensive build but I think with low boost I should be able to keep it all safe. I have watched every turbo Miata build YouTube video known to man and have spent a few days studying this website. Thanks!

Ditch the speedy and go ms3pnp

I know megasquirt is the fan favorite but from my research I’ve seen they both use tunerstudio and people say megasquirt has a few extra additions that aren’t necessary for my use. I plan on using the car around the town and some highway. No track or racing

None of the reasons you have stated matter. These being the reasons that you think matter indicates you don't have experience tuning a standalone ECU. MS3PNP puts you in the best position for success learning how to use it. Get the right ECU, install it prior to doing anything else, learn how to use it. A track car is way easier to tune than a street car because you don't give a snit if it idles well or starts at -8deg F.
