Hey Everybody

Picked up a 92 NA about three years ago on Craigslist, w/52K Miles on it for $3,800. I'd owned a 2005-Impreza before that, a 2001 S-Runner Supercharged, have always been a rotary fan beginning with a 73-RX-2 and the 82 RX-7.

Now that I've come to grips with reality and realized that I won't be driving a 2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS any time soon (needless to say that I could win the Lottery which would alter my course), I'm looking to pick up a used NC with low mileage in the near future, learn as much as I can about the rig, make some friends while I'm at it and put together a plan to get some serious RWHP but still be able to pass smog in Calif. Been researching this for a while, but have come to the point, where I need to join a good forum, and this seems like a good starting place.

Will post up some pix of the 92 NA when work/family permits and hopefully add something of value to the board. In the meantime I'll be lurking/learning for a while.

S-runner huh? I love those trucks. I currently have an X-runner though, I needed a little more space.

The X-Runner is a nice rig.

SR was my first and last supercharged vehicle to date. Biggest challenge with that thing was traction, so one of the first things I did was get an LSD in place. Moved to a big city and parking a truck on the street ain't easy, main reason I got a car where you can make a u-turn while parked.

Sold my 92NA yesterday and am looking to pull the trigger

Hey All,

So, I'm looking to pull the trigger tomorrow on an '06 NC, GT.

The car has some 30K miles on it and they're asking $13k and some change for it.

I'm trying to find something wrong with the '06 but maybe I'm just paranoid? :D

Lower it, get a MazdaSpeed front bumper, boost it and be full of win.

Welcome!

Careful with boost on those NCs, they're high compression engines. Lev, you got a pic of a NC Mazdaspeed front bumper?

levnubhin 08-09-2010 06:07 PM

There's a bunch on Cr.

I also have been talking to the owner of a '99 with some 38k miles and is extra clean. Been a garaged, occasional weekend car only for the last 10 years or so. Of course the 99 is about $5,500 cheaper. Decisions, decisions. Both drive well.

I'd get the NB to be honest

but I'm biased:D

rotarypwr67 08-10-2010 11:52 AM

Does anyone think that's a bit low for a 2006 GT, 32k miles for $13,900K? Blue book is $20k. Going to check it out today.

The 1999NB is sweet, but it's hard to get a loan for a used car that's over 7 years old, low miles even.

18psi 08-10-2010 11:53 AM

13,900 is not too low. that's about norm around here. not a bad deal, but I wouldn't say its TOO low

Blue book doesn't take into account that economy is shit right now and cars are not selling great, and not many people have money or good credit scores.
