Default Finally got around to the introduction!

Hi! I'm Chris, 27 years old and all around ridiculous person. I've never been much into cars beyond the initial purchase. I've owned two WRX's and really didn't do any work myself although I LOVED driving them. My first WRX lasted 70k miles without a single mechanical fault on a paper route until I hit a deer and totaled it. I decided the second one was too expensive and sold it to a friend. I miss them both but somehow I got it in my head that I wanted a miata.

About a day after I bought my Miata I fell in love with it and decided I really want to get my hands dirty, which is why I am here. I'm smart and a quick learner but I have almost no real experience with cars. I did just change my brakes though so that was my first bonding experience. :P

The car is a black 1995, 102k miles with a trim I'm not sure of. I have power steering and AC but it didn't have a LSD stock. The previous owner installed the torsen LSD, Tien SS coilovers, pretty beefy sway bars, exhaust and SS brake lines. The car handles amazing but compared to my last few cars it feels slow. I'm much more interested in reliability than pure power and anything beyond the wrx power level would just be gravy for me.

I'm also very interested in the megasquirt. I plan on building one since I've been building radios and the like since I was in elementary school; I figure it shouldn't be too hard. I'm planning on going turbo as soon as I can anyway, plus the bonus of learning more about how everything works is really important to me.

So yeah, nice to meet everyone and hopefully I can get the ball rolling on some power mods for my car!

Here is a pic to placate the crowd!

Nice NA. Are those konig heilums you have there? I actually have a bronze set and will soon be painting my car black.

Good luck building a MS. I'm decent with wiring and soldering and such, but decided to just skip the hassle and get a MS PNP. I highly recommend it.

They are indeed. I love those rims.

I get a lot of satisfaction out of building things so combined with my frugality I'm pretty sure the kit is the only real option for me.

I'm actually looking to paint my car a different color because I hate how obnoxious it is to keep black/white cars looking clean.

Also my friend says she will paint my car any color I want for the price of paint. Any suggestions?

Keep it black. If you feel the need to paint a car we can trade cars and I'll have a black car like I wanted in the first place.
