Default Re-introducing myself

I've been on here for about a year and a half now but I've been lurking around and reading mostly. So now that I'm getting more serious with my "build" I should probably re-introduce myself.

I'm Spencer and I live in the East SF Bay Area. I'm a 19 year old college student currently working on my general ed requirements so I can transfer to an engineering school. I was top of my advanced auto class in high school and led the schools team to the AAA/Ford auto challenge (competitive auto repair at the high school level). So I have a pretty good understanding of basics but still have alot to learn about performance/racing stuff.

My Miata is a 91', unsure of package, but is power everything and was formerly an automatic. So far I have swapped it over to a manual trans, 00' open diff (blew up the 6" diff and didn't have the money for a torsen at the time), 99' caliper and master cylinder conversion, converted to manual windows, modified the air box slightly, and removed a fair amount of the interior. As far as aftermarket parts go I'm running ATE rotors paired with Hawk HPS pads, KYB AGX 8-way's, OBX Racing exhaust, and some subpar Vogtland springs. Also have a fiberglass hardtop shell in the mail.

Have ran several autocross events and placed in the top third most of the time in STS2 (pre interior gutting). I want to do more autocross but try some time attack racing.

I have a Megasquirt built following Braineack's thread sitting on my desk, but I need to get around to building the wiring harness. I'm trying to get aero and suspension stuff all sorted out before I start building a turbo system. As far as what I want to do to the engine, I would like to do a ram horn style manifold top down, probably a gt2560r with built internals an aluminum intake manifold. Reality however means that's way down the road and my wants and goals will for sure change.

In my dream Miata I'd have a Hartley H1 v8 mated to a Hewland T9 derived sequential 6 speed. But that's like 40k in engine and transmission parts alone so that's not gonna happen. But a cool dream.

-Spencer
