Hi
Hi guys,
My name's Eddy. I'm a good way along in rebuilding a 99. I bought it without an engine and have worked my way around the car over the past year-- you can check it out in the link in my sig. Anyway, I just picked up a barely used FM kit w/o electronics/injectors and an Adaptronic ECU, so I figured I would introduce myself prior to asking a bunch of questions. Heh, yes, I do know how to search-- I've been lurking for some time! Looking forward to learning a lot! |
I'm curious, what was your motivation to swap in a BP when you had the option of swapping in the superior B6? I think you need to reevaluate both your life and your mechanical choices.
Yo, welcome. |
Don't know that I've heard of anyone wanting to reduce displacement before (yes, I know the B6 is a great turbo motor). Nice choice in cars-- I had a 99 Camaro that had an LS6 swapped in-- that was a blast so I can only imagine what that engine would be like in a real chassis.
The B6 revs a lot higher and if you divide the displacement by two, you get .80 which is exactly how much tax is on a pack of cigarettes. Cigarettes are delicious and so are you. Welcome!
Are you planning on doing suspension work before the turbo stuff?
It's on Illuminas with 350 lb front/200lb rear GC coils. I also installed energy suspension bushings and FM sways.
Did you install fittings as well when you did the bushings? And how did the bushing install go?
It was pretty straightforward. What do you mean by fitting?
Grease fittings. Some people recommend em, others don't give a shit.
Oh. No. I don't think I've seen a Miata, or too many other cars for that matter, with them.

I've never actually replaced bushings, but I'm planning on doing them soon, so I wanted to know if anybody else was installing fittings. |
