Hi
I bought a '91 Miata ~16 months ago
I plan on modifying it I've been reading this board for over a year, and though I still feel like I don't have much to contribute on a technical level (and I don't post whore like some people), I figured I might as well get this bullshit over with in case I ever wanted to post something or start a thread (I've seen how you guys abuse "newbs")... So...ta-da |
So, how did the assimilation go? Any chafing or irritation from the implants?
|
Pics of your mom's feet pls

Put shoe on head.

Welcome! Now let's see some pics of that car. I don't know if I have any pictures of it together... I think all I have are pictures of it in pieces |
I assume your username is a reference to a GVR-4. Do you still own it. Is it a crap-trap?

My '91 BRG Miata is #718 according to the plaque... (I honestly had no idea that they had a serialized special edition in '91. Now I know.) |

Ah. I assumed it was your Borg identification.
(I honestly had no idea that they had a serialized special edition in '91. Now I know.) The seller thought highly of it being a special edition, but I didn't have the heart to tell him I was planning on gutting it and removing everything that made it "special". But yes, the Borg thing was also on my mind, though I'm not as pretty as 7 of 9. Sorry |

We've got a couple of folks on here who seem to view their entire drivetrain as a consumable. Blew the transmission on the dyno? Grab another one and continue the session. Hole blown through the case? Good excuse to finally use those H-beam rods that I've had lying around. Differential exploded on the racetrack? Grab the one out of your buddy's daily driver and head back out. |

Funny, it kind of depends on who you talk to.

It does seem that the transmission is more of a consumable than would be preferred, but I guess would be expected as it is a stock part when compared to the built engines and what not most people are running. At least transmissions and differentials are relatively cheap and plentiful (I came from a BMW -- M Roadster, to be exact, where nothing was cheap or plentiful). |
I have a 5-speeds and a Torsen just sitting at my house waiting to replace current parts
