Hey, My name is Jacey, most of my friends just call me Shiz. I'm a sailor in your US Navy.
I have a 95 retina burning red miata with the early 1.8 approaching 200,000 miles. I bought this car to have a fun dd and with the intention of participating in Auto-x and later compete on tracks once I have another car to replace it. Right now I picked up a extra 97 1.8l from tasty_danish to rebuild and stick in my car since the old engine is starting to lose compression. Then I plan to go the turbo route after I get to my sea going command.
But I'm trying to build a somewhat competitive Auto-X miata and I was told to join this site to get pointed in the right direction. With that said, here's my miata as it sits (I'll get better pictures later)
It's completely mint stock except for a gv knock off lip, kg works spoiler, and black 15x8 6ul wheels.

I have a quick question. I plan to start on my suspension soon. As far as bushings are concerned, which ones would I see actual benefit from using polyurethane? I used to be heavily into first gen Rx7's and Poly bushing in our tri link would cause it to bind really badly and kill our handling but everywhere else, poly bushings were fine.

Looks like a cool job that you could make a career of in the Navy or civilian world if you wanted to.
My little bro just got graduated from MCRD Parris Island about a week and a half ago, and I'm supposed to go as soon as my ankle heels and I can run well enough
. There are a lot of users here who are/where in the military (FRT_Fun, Samnavy).

Well I was searching earlier and found this,
And on a side note: either push the bushings to the next build / upgrade or set aside plenty of time for them. The install is pretty straight forward, but for me as well as several others there has been problems with binding which absolutly ruins the handling of your car. The solution is to spend a weekend with a lathe (english?) and machine the metal sleeves a few 0,Xmm to fit better (as in "bind less"). Zerk/grease-fittings are also a beautiful thing to add as you have everything apart.

The made me think about the issues my FB rx7 had using poly bushings so I was curious if there's any bushings I should just leave rubber for more give. But I couldn't find anything So I just replace all of them when the time comes. Thanks though.
