Noob from the North
Hi Everybody!
I've been lurking on this forum for a few months now, just trying to gather all the information I can. I bought my 1999 from my brother-in-law's friend back in the summer of 2008 when it had 68k kms. Since then it's remained mainly stock. I bought some gold Rota RB's last spring (as seen in my sig picture) and have replaced my stereo (to get rid of the stock Bose system) but haven't done any performance modifications yet. It has around 96k kms now.
I just finished paying off the car last month and have decided to start piecing together my turbo kit this year. I've read Maximum Boost as was recommended on the forums here, so I have a pretty good understanding of what is necessary for my build. My father is a machinist and one of my good friends is a welder (who has already agreed to build my manifold) so I figure I can get some of my components fabbed up. I'm an applications engineer (graduated with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree) working for the Canadian division of a multinational bearing company, but unfortunately don't work on automotive applications.
Power goal wise I'm looking for around 200HP but still being able to pass emissions since they need to be done every two years here in Ontario. I'm looking at either adaptronic or DIYPNP for engine management.
Yea so that's about it, I'll go back to reading now.
