Hi and new here

Well I originally came here to look at Miata's for sale....BUT everything I try to do is restricted so I can't shop for a Miata here it seems until I have at least 10 posts, so at this point I'm trying to post again. :)

I tried starting a new thread in the classifieds section with what I want to buy, I tried sending private messages, and I tried replying to threads and nothing is working! I then checked the faq to see where exactly I'm supposed to post to remove this noob hell on my head and couldn't find anything...

So, this is just a suggestion that perhaps there should be a faq section (unless I missed it??) that talks about the restrictions and how to remove them.

I just want a Miata! And honestly I need a new car quick at this point. :sad2:

As of last night my car door on my daily driver wont open/close

Does anybody even post in here or welcome in this forum section? Or is this just a breeding ground for newb posters like myself haha...

I don't yet have a Miata but hopefully will in the next couple weeks if I find the right one.

lol noob. I take it personally when someone comes here and makes an effort to introduce himself and no one answers.

Check your other thread ;)

NOOBs who post-whore their way past the minimums (like starting 2 intro threads in the same forum) typically get their taints flicked by the veterans.

Goop, you've started what...? 5 threads in the last 2 days? There's nothing necessarily wrong with that except you come off as some 16yr old who just received his first paycheck, wants to blow it all at once on something that will really piss of your parents, knows nothing about nothing, and will make bad decisions no matter what is recommended to him. I'm just speaking from several years of participation on this board and my general impression is that you're in way over your head. If your first reaction to my saying this is "Fuck this guy, he doesn't know me"... well... good luck.

But if your first reaction is "You know, he's probably right, I should really take my time, make smart decisions, learn everything I can before I spend a dime, listen to the experts, etc..." then read ahead.

1: Read every STICKY in every forum.

2: Look through the USEFUL SAVED POSTS forum and read every one that sounds interesting.

3: Use GOOGLE before asking any questions.

4: After GOOGLE, use the search function before asking any questions.

5: If you Google Dallas Miata you'll find that the first link is one of the largest local Miata forums on the net and it represents right in your hometown. A lot of guys on this board are from there. I recommend joining.

6: Don't buy anything for at least a month... maybe more. You need to have a plan, a budget, and a lot more knowledge than you do know. Buying an already turbo'd Miata at this stage will only ensure that when it breaks, you'll be SOL for weeks while you learn how to fix it.

7: The forum rules are in place to keep the spammers and douche's at bay. They work well. If you stick around more than a week, you'll be glad they exist, and be pissed when people try to get around them. If your Register eMail did not include a list of the basic forum rules, perhaps that is something the Admin's could look at.

Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the forum!

Haha, I could see how I come off that way... :)

The fact is that I'm not a 16 year old just looking to blow cash. I need a new car and miss going fast. I used to have an s2k but wanted something faster when I had it.

I have researched to some extent and know what I'm looking for. What I DONT want, is to buy a stock Miata that I'm not happy with power wise and then have to spend 5-10k in making it how I like when I can just spend a little extra up front for an already setup car the way I like it.

I'm not new to driving, racing, fast cars but am new to Miata's and tuning. I'm not alone though either and have friends that can help when/if I need it. In fact, when I had an ACT clutch installed on my s2k it was done by someone who had one the FASTEST (if not THE) Miata's in N. America (with documented proof) that he completely built up and designed. Ok, now I'm rambling...the point is, that I'm not completely blind on my decision and what I'm looking for.

I appreciate the advice and help, but honestly I'm in need of a car pretty quickly...hence the reason for fast posts. I have seen some nice 'already setup' Miata's here that I HAVENT seen on the TOP google search hit site (Miata.net classified's). BUT, with the forum restrictions here, I was unable to contact the sellers of those cars.

Anyway, if you know of any Miata good deal for sell that's already tuned to 250hp+ please let me know!
