Welcome to the site 1993ka24det. Have you blown up your nissan yet. I know first hand the ka24de-t is sensitive to boost levels.

I have a fully built KA sitting in my storage and my friend is running 24 psi on his, but stock 12 psi is the hightest (ringland will go). I'm hoping to run 220 hp, maybe cams, intake, exhaust and 14 psi on a turbo should do it.

Ka's r nice motors to build imo. Cheaper/easier to get then sr's/rb's.

I know the weak points of the KA but what would it take to get 220 rwhp out of the 1.6 miata motor. if it was easy i would do an SR20 swap but i read it takes alot to do the swap

umm.... boost and a tune will get close to those levels with some other given add ons. (injectors, fuel pump <-maybe, wide band....) the 1.6 have lower comp than th new miata motors, and have stronger rods so little more boost than later year miata's.

and sqrew the sr20's, a built miata motor puts down almost as good power as a built SR, and doesn't cost as much in time or IE money

wow people are up late well im about to pick up my car right now in Colorado then Pikes Peak. The Altitude here is 4300 feet so atmospheric pressure is at 12.2 psi and sea level is 14.7 so why cant i just raise the boost an extra 2.5 psi to compensate

I used to live in Colo Sprgs. Put your location in your profile so it shows under your user name. There are probably some other guys local to you.

And to answer your altitude question the little turbo has to spin a lot faster in that thin air to get the necessary volume to reach the same pressure at sea level. You just need to be careful not to overspeed it. A 1.6 can make 220hp on stock internals.
