Default Hey y'all

Just another noob here. I've been lurking around for a while gathering info as I've been working on my car. Then I tried to post in a thread when I felt I could actually contribute a small piece of useful information and BAM! Denied. Little did I know my account had not been verified. Well now, obviously, it has.

I have a silver 99 that has the distinct distinction of being owned by the distiguished Miata parts pusher duo of Brian Goodwin and Gary Shuhart. Over the years it has had several different power and suspension set ups. It's in remarkably good condition considering that everyone who has owned it has tracked the crap out of it. Yet, they all kept it very streetable.

Currently as far as power goes it has an MP62 (I know, I Know this is miataTURBO.net) a TDR IC, bigger injectors (Although I'm not sure which ones. See – noob.), power card, RB header, Goodwin mid-pipe, RB exhaust.

In the handling department, it came with Bilstein PSS9s, worn out bushings and some HUGE gold colored sway bars that when the rear one was hooked up I had crazy oversteer. I've changed to Tein MonoFlex, 949 control arms and RB sways on front and rear with 949 endlinks. Sways are set to the typical full stiff in front and soft in rear. I may change to a stock rear sway. I also put the Goodwin BBK on it as I was able to get it used from a guy here that has an LS1 car that the Wilwoods couldn't slow down well enough. Stainless lines, of course. Hawk DTC 60's front and Hawk Black in rear for a ghetto brake bias. I've have the FM/Wilwood proportioning kit but have yet to install.

I'm working on taking out some weight but haven't fully committed to the track car only status so I'm a bit limited on what I'm willing to do. When I had it aligned and corner balanced it was at 2560 with 3/4 tank of gas and me in it. The AC is about to come out as it quit working (made that decision easy), and the stereo is not far behind. I've removed the soft top and put in a Braille battery.

As you can probably tell this car is on it's way to becoming a track car that gets driven on the street occasionally but as I said before I've not fully committed it. I live outside of Dallas and drive at Motorsport Ranch Cresson and I'm a member at Eagles Canyon Raceway.

I'll continue to comb the suspension/handling, race prep and ECU forums (new ECU is in the fairly near future) for info.

I'll try not to embarrass myself in the forums. I'm sure someone will let me know when I do.

Patrick
