Default Long-Time Lurker Checking In

Hello all,

Just saying hi. I am looking at doing a project once career/etc stuff is nailed down. I come from DSMs, and while the easy power spoiled me, my old 1G did not have near the capability in all-around track performance that a well done NA can have on a stockish level. So here I am. I am planning on doing a very basic build using a lot of my old hardware (I have a great E3 16G and TiAL WG ready to go) and gunning for about 200WHP. That should be a decent challenge since I live at about 6000 feet elevation here in Colorado.

I hope to get a lot of autox in before going turbo, first in stock classes then with a GC/Koni setup etc. The driver mod is half the point with this project.

I have a lot of familiarity with tuning on the street and handling wastegate/BOV/turbo/plumbing/heat/routing issues. Living in Phoenix with a 20+ psig daily driver will do that

Thanks,

Sparetire

Hey Sparetire; welcome aboard.

Why is it that all noobs don't put their location below their Avatar?

From your post we know you live in Colorado. It would make it easier for you to place your location. This way, if some member close to you sees it, he may be able to assist you some time in the future.

Some pics of your ride would be good.

Done

But pics of my ride will not be cool. It is a S10 right now, and slow. I love the thing, as it cost me 3000 dollars and it never breaks down. It's the perfect DD/workhorse. But it's about as sporty as a forklift.

Thanks. Welcome aboard.

I won't tell you to read the FAQs since you've been registered here for more than a year.

BTW, wasn't there a hot S10 some time ago? I think it had the Corvette engine. Am I mistaken?

It is an easy swap, but AFAIK they never did it from the factory. They did offer the 4.3L V6 though, which had plenty of power for a truck that's about 3000 LBs. They often came badged as the "Xtreme" S10s.

One of the hot things to do right now is put a Duramax diesel in there and race in the NHRDA classes with it. Very fast.
