Default I am poopbutt. I am noob.

My names Joe, I have a 1990 Miata with only 195,000 miles! This is my 2nd Miata and I love these cars. Turbo setup coming this winter, piecing it together slowly (BEGI Ext gate mani, MS PNP, sr20det T25 I don't think I'm gonna run, etc.). I bought the car bone stock (with the exception of these sweet tail lights) about a month ago and ordered every part on it that night. As it sits:

ESM 15x8 0 offset Meister reps
Federal 595's
F&F Type 2 coilovers
Test pipe
Flow master Spec exhaust
OMP Corsica steering wheel
And other stuff too

Cheers from Bel Air, MD USA

What about it? I did quite a bit of research before pulling the trigger on those coilovers. There's very few manufacturers of coilovers out there, so unless you're buying Ohlins or Bilstien or some type of high end/ boutique coilovers you're getting about the same thing. These coilovers are great for the price payed. My last Miata had Megan coilovers and handled like it was on rails and then some, this Miata handles like its on rails with just a tad more body roll than I'd like when a passenger is in the car, but it rides like stock so I'm not too worried, a set of FM sway bars will fix that. I know several people that go to track days with Megan's and F&F's with no complaints. This car will go around a corner faster than anyone in front of me behind me or beside me is anywhere close to comfortable going so I'm content with them. Or were you wanting to talk about something else about my suspension? Lol

I like how Bilstien and Ohlins are the high end coil overs.

Ok, let's go ahead and read what I said (this is a response to everyone, not just you). Unless you're buying Ohlins, Bilstien ***OR*** some type of high end/boutique coilovers, you're getting about the same thing. I meant what I said and however pretentious your comment may be won't change that. F&F are low quality coilovers, especially for a car like a Miata. But, most low quality coilovers are made by the same company (in this case, BC). So, my coilovers offer dampening adjustment and ride height adjustment, which is all I want out of my STREET CAR that probably will never see a track day with these coilovers. They were bought strictly for aesthetics, if I wanted a great handling STREET Miata, I would've left the car bone stock and threw on a set of star specs or NT01's. The car performs as well as a stock Miata performs and is at the ride height I wanted so I'm content. Now, in my opinion, Ohlins and Bilstien ARE high end coilovers, especially when compared to these things. I don't have a
SPEC Miata, nor do I plan on turning this car into one or any type of dedicated track car. Next year, once the turbo setup/ built bottom / 6spd is done and I want to play on a track, I'll opt for something like a Ohlins, Bilstein, KW, AST, Moton, etc. (I don't know if all those manufacturers make coilovers for Miatas, but you get my point). I bought these coilovers for the simple fact they're cheap and available. I wanted a nice Miata for the summer so I threw these parts on and I have a nice Miata for the summer. I drove the car 7,000 miles last month and have no complaints whatsoever, I appreciate the warm welcome, though.

Does anyone actually say anything on here, or does everyone just troll? I'd love to hear a well thought out response to why everyone is giving me loads of **** for buying a cheap set of coilovers. I knew it was gonna happen when I bought them, I just didn't realize you all loved bashing people new to the forum with a common interest in these cars for no reason.

I drive on racelands, and I don't exactly keep it hidden. I don't appear to be trolled much.

I don't say stupid retarded **** about them though, so YMMV. We don't like bullshit here, this a good forum.

So saying they're a low quality coilover that works for many people is stupid retarded? I'm legitimately asking. What did I say that was so stupid? I'm not a coilover expert, but everything I said I believe is true. If it's not, let me know. I'm always trying to learn.

The coilover argument is one you'll never win on here, anyone that doesn't spend $2500 on Xidas is an idiot. It doesn't matter that some of us just want a fun cheap adjustable height streetcar.

Looks like you've got a pretty solid plan started as far as the turbo goes and you've obviously done some research on that front so props for that. You are also absolutely correct that a lot of low-end coilovers are all the same, just rebranded, so I've got no idea why everyone is so upset about that comment.

There's a lot of good information on the site, hope you'll hang around and let us know how the car progresses.
