I buy junk cars and punish myself by fixing them

Hi there!
TLDR; 90 NA6 1.6l w/ GBC 20-300 Kraken top-mount with intercooler Speedyefi Half painted Reflex Blue Mica Slight Wire Tuck 02 NB2 1.8l na MSPNP3 Garbage Ebay exhaust Garbage ebay ~40 wing Slammed Racelands Stretched tires I have a 1990 na6 Miata I traded a $500 1998 Dodge Ram 2wd for. Much of the wiring was chopped up and the interior and motor were shot. I would say the body was clean, but I would be lying. After some work, honda wheels, and a hardtop, it was road-worthy. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...49a43daedc.png Replaced mirrors, wheels, front bumper, top, and fixed many gremlins. Also, emptied probably years of ashes and cigarette butts from the interior. Later, I was able to get a spare motor to refresh. I resealed everything except the head gasket. It was healthy and low mileage, so I risked it. Swapped the motor and did a slight wiretuck. At this time I put on a Yonaka exhaust, raceland header, jackson racing intake, Speedyefi pnp, and AEM Uego wideband. I bought good condition used interior, speakers, and a new headunit. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...6f18767cef.png I was also installing silicone cooling lines. At this time I was also attempting to repaint the car. A combination of bad weather and other issues I had to handle, I wasn't able to finish the paint job. In fact, my hood was rushed and needs redone. I also repainted a set of Avid.1 AV08s. I didn't want to be driving around on a set of honda wheels forever! https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...2dbe5e24fb.png Quick glamor shot. Recently, I was trying to make it to a cars and coffee locally. I intended to rush install my kraken turbo kit in less than a day. BTW, running Bosch 700CC injectors and 10 psi on wastegate spring. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...c6f6f52f37.jpg I have zero experience installing an aftermarket turbo kit, so it took me 15 hours. Being tired, I didn't have my tune or vacuum lines correctly setup. I didn't make it to the cars and coffee. Later that week, I was able to fix my vacuum lines and adjust my tune for the larger injectors. I still need to adjust my tune, but am learning as I go. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...e76cbaaf58.jpg On a side note, I traded one of my trucks for a 2002 NB2 that was previously a drift car. The owner had very little information about the car as it changed hands a couple times fairly quickly. I will be working on getting it more represent-able soon. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...f34b8eae70.png :/ |
I buy junk cars and punish myself by fixing them Would rather have a fleet of old hoopties then one nice/new car. |

I feel attacked by this thread's subject title.
Both cars look sweet. That NB looks surprisingly nice for having been a "drift car". Have fun with 'em! |
I plan on having plenty of fun. I've had probably around 50-60 vehicles including motorcycles at this point. The na is my first real build, though. I have Meisterr sportive coilovers to install, but my rear suspension is kinda crusty. I am not looking forward to cutting it out.
