Whats up guys?

I picked up this 94 Miata a few weeks ago after a long time of researching and reading up on them.
The car came from Florida to Indiana back in 2008. I got it from an enthusiast (a 30-something military airplane mechanic) who had built it from stock to the following list over the past 5 years/5k miles but never got to use it for its intended purpose:

Tein lowering springs
AGX adjustable shocks
RacingBeat front and rear sway bars
suspension bushing and diff bushings with new energy suspension bushings
Beat rush tower braces
Beat rush lower rear brace

15 inch Konig wheels... wrapped in all seasons :(

Jackson header
Racing Beat exhaust
Track dog exhaust header cover
Magnaflow catalytic converter

Oiler cooler kit with filter relocation kit

NB Miata factory big brake kit
NB Miata factory big brake booster
Stainless lines
slotted rotors

Interior replaced with the factory tan interior
Factory hard top
Hard Dog M2 sport hard top roll bar with pad

NACA duct in headlight
H4 headlights
Factory front lip
TSIs

Recent new driveshaft
Respray

Along with the car came an entire book of receipts for all the parts purchased/work done by him over the past 5 years. At approx 5k miles old, this stuff is practically brand new. There was also some documentation of a complete replacement engine purchased from Mazda and installed in Florida. No reason as to why or exactly how many miles are on the new engine but the seller said he got it from Florida from the original owner with approx 15k on the new engine.

Even though the guy was really cool and didn't BS anything about the build, he did have these installed on it:

Those AutoZone special fogs are coming off ASAP.

Never been wrecked, no rust anywhere! Seemed too nice of an example to pass up. I had a friend who is an experienced Miata builder help me out with a pre-purchase inspection and after a lenghty test drive I brought it home.

My most recent project was this:

This car is night and day from my TT but I'm looking forward to feeling the Miata once it has some boost thrown at it. I've been lurking here a couple weeks now and am trying to absorb the knowledge that is on this forum. It's def a different feeling than over on some of the VAG forums (nowhere near as bad as Honda forums though haha)

My first mod is going to be MSPNP2 in a few months to get me ready for boost sometime next year.

Welcome to the site Taifighter

Welcome, seems like you got a very nice example.

Unfortunately, I see a lot of crappy Miata's around my area.

Btw how much did you pay?

Taifighter 03-25-2012 11:25 PM

Car was listed for $6500. I brought it home for less than that since the seller was in the middle of building a new home, hence his reason for selling it

Looks like you have a nice base for a turbo project. Always better to start with a nice example instead of always trying to bring a lesser car up to snuff.

Welcome. Nice TT.

Excellent intro thread; nice looking car. Welcome to the forum.

Taifighter, congrats on signing up at the best site on the web!

I agree with Stein. Based on your TT ownership, you and Hustler should get along famously.

Very nice looking car!

I would say you are 100% on the right track. Car looks well set up for a turbo already. Definitely learn how to tune the MS N/A before you boost! Much less risk of blowing your motor like I did :)

Thanks for the welcoming
