Hi! I've only been lurking for a bit over two years now, figure I should probably de-noob myself since I am going to be posting the start of my build thread soon. :noob: I am currently attending college for an AASMET (Associate of applied science in mechanical engineering technology) while working full time, so updates from me will likely be slow.

I bought a 1990 back in April of 2013 with all the intentions of making it a track car after my friend managed to get me to take my Honda Fit out for a track day. The thought processes was, what is cheap, reliable, easy to get parts for and decent on a track. Yeah, that was an easy choice.

Photo proof of a bone stock 2011 Honda Fit on a track. Decidedly a slow way to get around.

Anyway, this was Morris the Miata the day I picked him up in stock trim. 116,460 miles, a style bar, stereo and a motor from a '93 (the SNC died after a timing belt job apparently).

And this is how he looks now. Did lots of maintenance, suspension and a roll bar.

Since I bought him, I have gotten fairly heavily into autocross, since it turns out I am far too tall to fit my helmet below the roll bar without a lot of work I haven't gotten around to yet.

And my co-driver learning just how quickly a miata will end up sideways.

Morris also goes to a lot of car meet's where we hang out with our buddies.

Also "won" a limbo contest. Though they disqualified both Miata's that entered. Guess we have too much of an advantage. :riaa:

Thanks a ton for all the amazing info on this site, and I am looking forward to learning more every day as I build my car and play "engineer" on my friend's 91 turbo, Ratchet (Already started a build thread for his car).

Would you sell it for 1800?

Too much work into it for that price. :P

The limbo was because we were there and there was a $50 gift card to the place we were eating for the winner. I figured we had it easy. I'll try just about anything once. (And a miata really is cheating).

Also, green shirt on the trunk is my friend's girl. Which was funny, since every other car limboing was packed full of men. But yeah, endless jokes about the miata with three guys in the passenger seat.

It was a fun evening, many laughs were had at all the stancebros.

More photos of green shirt girl ? :naughty:

How's driving the fit? Slow as balls??

Ha! I wish. She's cute, but I don't have any around.

Well, considering my Miata is a 1.6, the Fit is a 5 speed and supposidly it's 1.5l puts out one more hp and one more tq than the B6. Yes, it is very much slow as balls. (Does faster than a Prius count for anything?)

Interesying fact though, the Fit weighs about the same as a late NB. Curb weight is 2350, so it isn't terrible.

Got sick of the stock suspention and put a Bilstien PSS kit on it though, so it actually handles somewhat compitantly now.

hard parking. might as well just start having sex with all your guy friends too.

Looks like I beat myself to this thread.
OP gets a pass for auto-x content and presence of at least three potentially genetic females in the photos.
You can't completely blame him for being surrounded by flat-brim hardparkers.
He's in New Jersey.

Well, I have managed to get my crew to all come to autocross (which quickly stopped them from modding since they all realized they sucked at driving :noob: ) So all the cars in my photos so far have been to at least one autocross. Trying my best to convert the hard parkers (not that I have much luck...)

Well, except the bed liner turbo Miata. But it wouldn't survive an autocross yet. It needs a lot of work.

But yeah, NJ....

And I only keep the sex to special friends. :ky:
