im a noob
:inout:
So, I dont actually own a turbo miata:td:. I just bought a bone stock 90 NA for $500, and I like it. I want to build it into a track car (isnt that everyones plan though?) and put my daily driver back to mostly stock. My daily is a mildly modded 02 sentra. Its been fun, but Im tired of front wheel drive, loud exhaust, and coilover ride quality. Right now my plan for the miata is to swap the 1.6 for a 1.8 and boost it, probably w/ a begi kit and megasquirt. So Ive been lurking here for a while, and Im sure Ill have questions of my own at some point. Sorry no pics of the miata yet, but heres my sentra. |

Smart move to apologize in advance for not having pics ;) I guess you read some previous responses ;) You'll find a lot of help in your quest with the Miata here. BTW, that's my wife's Sentra, only with no mods :giggle: |

Thanks for the welcome, and I finally have pics. The weathers been getting nicer, so Ive started working on getting the miata ready to be inspected and tagged. It needs brake pads, I did the fronts today. It still needs a battery, a heater hose, an upper radiator hose, and a lot of rust fixed before I can start building it to where I want it. Im a mechanic, I work on these things on my lunch hour and after work every once in a while.
Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, but here they are: Attachment 213954 Heres all the rust spots on the outside, theres some more underneath as well: Attachment 213955 Attachment 213956 Attachment 213957 Attachment 213958 Attachment 213959 I have a new rear panel, I just need to sand and paint it Attachment 213960 I need to get a new radiator duct/ shroud thing, for now I ripped out the half that was still there in this pic Attachment 213961 Wont need that anymore Attachment 213962 I need to stitch this up before it gets any worse Attachment 213963 My bone stock B6 with 287k miles Attachment 213964 Attachment 213965 I took out the soft top because the vinyl was mostly gone, and I started removing the rest of the interior while I was in there. Attachment 213966 Attachment 213966 And heres both my cars Attachment 213968 |
not a bad deal considering you got it with a hardtop
fill in where you live |
Buy a hardtop get a car fo free...:)
|
that car's looking rough, i'd, sell the hardtop, part out the car and buy a nicer one
|
By the look of your Sentra,;) you're up to the task. I would indeed sell the hardtop. It'll provide welcome funds for your project.
Keep us in the loop. BTW, for that price, that's a really nice car! :bigtu: |
Man if only it wasn't a rust bucket. Oh well, you got a cheap hardtop that included a car to strip out as a race slut.
|
I know its in rough shape, but I can fix most of the rust and I probably would have wanted a 1.8 swap even if the 1.6 had low miles. And the 1.6 still runs great with almost 300k.
I really dont need a nice looking car, I only bought this because I wanted a faster car. I wish I could have found an affordable 94 or 95, but it seems like thats pretty hard to do. |
