Default New from Buffalo, ny

Joined the forum a couple months ago. Just picked up a '95 M today.

Building this into my track toy so I will be parting out all of the M stuff to recoup some of my cost. Will be caging it and probably turbo'ing it down the road.

Would love to talk to other people in the area that have track oriented miatas!

Haha thanks. Its not too bad. I still have a 2000 impreza RS for the winter months. Snow drifting is a ton of fun, although there is not really any snow this winter so far.

I come from Florida originally. In 2000, I went to Tonowanda to build some new studios for Entercom Radio (WGR, WBEN, KISS, etc.)

I arrived Jan 9. I'll never forget that day, because it was not snowing. At first, I wondered why there were 10 foot high wooden stakes driven into the ground alongside the road at regular intervals. The next day I understood why they were there.

I had never driven in snow before. Ever. And I was driving an '89 Ford Aerostar with bald-ish tires.

Driving through the canyon that the snowplows carved out in order to expose something resembling Niagara Falls Blvd, I thought I heard Obi-Wan Kenobi's voice telling me to use The Force, which would have been a nice ability to have, given that my windshield wipers didn't really work all that well. Actually, that's not entirely accurate. The motor that drove them worked very well. Well enough to rip the arms right off of the actual wiper blades themselves, leaving them firmly embedded in a block of ice.

I didn't see the actual ground again for the next four months. And that was only because I finally finished the job and left at the end of April. They tell me that the sun did eventually come out, but since nobody sent me an actual picture of it, I don't believe it.

Aah, the memories.

LOL! Its not THAT bad, you must have been here on a bad winter. It is actually really common for wipers to break right off. Most of us keep them in the "folded up" position, if you will, so the windshield is easier to scrape off and the wipers don't freeze to the windshield.

I feel lucky to learn driving around here because I think I have developed a natural ability for car control-- my favorite time to drive is when its snowing heavily. You learn quickly how to handle a car that will just do random things without input-- especially driving in the snow ruts on the thruway at 55mph! Let me tell you the number of times my car has changed lanes without my permission.

Actually, Syracuse, Rochester, then Buffalo has the highest annual snowfall, in that order, of any city in the united states. We're just too used to it!

I'm interested in your diff if you happen to swap that out, keep me in the loop, I live on the west side of Rochester, just an hour away from Buffalo.

Edit: and if you need any misc miata parts, I have 12 of them

Yeah. Stuiephoto on there as well. My old sti is in the build subforum.

A friend and I both were tracking sti's. He still has his (built, rotated 35R, standalone, 360awhp).

Hes looking to switch to a miata also. We go to TMP often. This summer we plan to frequent nelson ledges, and make a trip to mo-sport, mid-ohio, and watkins.

Welcome to the forum. I lived in Williamsville until I was 12. I survived the blizzard of '85. Fun times.
