Just another v8 miata

What's up everyone? My names Stewart, I have a couple miata's. Audrey is my nice one, she's a 90 that is in the middle of a crate ls3 swap. I started planning and buying parts almost two and a half years ago and just started the teardown a couple months ago. I just started to get my feet wet into track stuff this year with one autocross and a mini track day down in colorado at the Flyin Miata summer camp.

Brad is my pile of a daily, he's real ugly and a bit of a douche. Currently he's on cinder blocks because he decided he was gonna start dumping oil out of his rear main 4 days before my rallyx. He has Audrey's old 1.6 that had 95k on it, his body has almost 270k on it and it shows. He's pretty stock with a limited slip and FM lightweight flywheel.

As for me, I'm a Mechanical Engineering student that works close to full time, so basically I get bent over during the school year. Other than the miatas I have a go kart that I'm working on that has a 955i inline three in it. I decided to make an account over here because it seems like out of all the forums, this one pays the least amount of attention to form.

Here's a couple pics of my stuff:

An old picture of the go kart, it's much further along but apparently I don't have any recent pictures on my photobucket. If you guys do want more recent pictures I post quite a bit of my projects on instagram @ls3miata

Welcome to the forum.

Yes, we are about function over style. Style is for the weak-minded and those with low self esteem who seek first the approval of others. This is part of the reason most of us also don't like drifting. Drifting has judges. Racing has a clock. Drifting's judges award points for style and technique, just like figure skating.

If Miatas were cool, people who didn't own them would have Miata t-shirts.

That's what I like to hear, I think I'll fit in just fine. The stance kids drive me nuts. And no, no name for the go kart. Maybe deathtrap? lol

Hoping to actually get some work done on Brad this weekend. All I have to do is put the trans back in, should only take a couple hours but it turns out 20 credits of engineering courses isn't that easy of a schedule. I did buy some 15x10's this week. I was really hoping to buy them later in the year but emilio decided to throw a wrench into those plans. Then v8roadsters threw a damn breaker bar into the rest of my plans and offered $100 off the kooks longtubes. So now I have no money lol, I also have some frame rails and rebuild-able upper balljoints coming from v8r.

With that stuff bought I pretty much just have the rear end to buy, the clutch, tires and whatever small stuff pops up along the way, I guess the cage too. Still, making some progress.
