Just boosted
Hey guys,
Just recently been boosted. Greddy kit. :noob: I know... Figured I should join the turbo forum because of the cornucopia of turbo knowledge you guys have and you guys have some great advice =D |
Using the stock Greddy drain line? Make sure its downhill the entire route, last guy i saw with one had it going uphill half the time.
Change your PCV valve, i'm sure yours is spent and is leaking boost into the crankcase. |

Thanks for the welcome
Here you guys go. Any discrepancies please let me know. Customed for the most part... I need a manifold because it cracked and was welded. And I don't want to spend 460 on an ETD right now =[ Attachment 213361 Attachment 213362 |

That filter is huge, never seen one like that. Looks like your thermoswitch isn't hooked up anymore. Do you have the fans jumpered on or do you not use fans?
|
The filter is a K&N RX7 filter I found laying around at a miata salvage shop. The fans are on at all times. I will soon splice the AC fan (took AC off cause it was leaking) to turn on as well, as long as somebody advices me not to.

Nice car, great work

congrats

Welcome, now I know where all of the white miatas are. Represent! (not sure if that is the appropriate use of the expression but what the hell)
Buy a pcv valve from a 323 gtx at the mazda dealer or online. |

On my car (also a 1.6) I left the thermoswitch connected and installed a small toggle switch below the radio so that I can flip the fans on if I suspect I'm going to need them- when I'm in stop-n-go traffic on a warm day, or if I've just pulled off the road after running hard and wish to let things cool down for a bit before I shut off. Decent looking setup, though. I/C plumbing looks well laid-out, good AFM placement (although a better place for it is on the shelf in your garage) and I dig the heatshield- looks like it gives excellent coverage. Is that a Bell AFPR I see on the shock tower? Welcome aboard. |
All looks good, especially listen to Joe, everything he said is sooooo true.
You do not want those fans constantly going, it is pointless, what you need is a bigger radiator and a lower temp thermostat instead. Look around for a used mani rather than dropping lots of money on a new one if you are looking to penny pinch...Good Luck |
I wouldn't recommend running the fans all the time. I did that on my 99 and made a 5 hour road trip a couple times and now my A/C fan is going out. It works but makes noise. Was fine before. I suspect running them for hours at a time is what did it.
