Long time listener noob...

Hi all,

Been listening in for a while now figuring out the best way (for me) to go forced induction on my '99... You guys have been a great help so far, haven't even had to ask one q yet. Pretty much decided on one of the Begi turbo kits, but still (slightly) considering doing an super charger.

What I have:
'99 LE with FM springs and sways, Illumina shocks.

Where I am:
Got an LC-1 installed last weekend, Adaptronic on the way...

Where I'm going:
Begi S, S1 or some flavor of supercharger next spring. Whatever I wind up with It has to be reliable since that's how I get to work and the wife has to drive the greenmachine sometimes when I need to steal her WRX wagon to haul sh!t around. I don't have a huge budget, but I am willing to pay a little extra so I don't have to live in the garage building and tweaking and I want it to run nice....

Anyway, thanks for all the advice I've pulled off these forums over the last year or so. I've learned A LOT just by reading all the great info here.

Great plan. I'd definitely advise on turbo and not supercharger, but reading here for 2 years I'm sure you know that:D

Dude, you've got it all wrong. You're supposed to blow your cash on a turbo kit and then spend months trying to scrounge up pocket change for things like megasquirt, wbO2, torsen, clutch, etc.

Or buy itb's for that crazy response:D

If you want to keep it user-simple, just go Begi-S, no intercooler, 6psi wastegate. You can keep stock injectors and stock clutch. It will get you 150 WHP, very wife-friendly, but still fun enough, at least for a while. By going Adaptronic now, you can add stuff later and you aren't buying anything that you will throw away. Want 8psi? (About 175WHP on 9.5 compression) add Intercooler and clutch. Want 10? (Around 200 WHP) Add injectors. Very modular and all can be built on the Begi S.

That said, you can spend double that and go SC, gain a few HP and still have an easy (easier??) driver.

Yah, after reading here for a while, it's hard to justify even thinking about supercharging...

It's been REALLY hard to not click one of the "Buy Now!" buttons on begi's site --must---resist-- :crx: , but I wanted to sort out engine mgt. first. I was going to go MS, but the Adaptronic came along and I was sold. Can't wait to get it and start tinkering!

Thanks for the greetings,
-t
