Long time Lurker de-noobing...

Well, I suppose after 6 years of registered lurking I should post and de-noob myself :loser: :noob:

I'm Jon, from the UK. I've had a couple of MX5s/Roadsters since about 2006, with it ending up boosted with one of the early BEGI GT2554 kits not long after, as I got fed up with everything being faster than me in a straight line on trackdays :(

Since then lots has been changed (including the original car) - now I've got a '95 JDM Roadster RS-Ltd running bits of the begi kit still (manifold, intercooler pipework), GT2860RS, FM 3" exhaust, Performance5 suspension, Adaptronic, RC550's, oil cooler, HD HCDD, etc etc

Last time it was dyno'd after mapping it made about 240WHP, I didn't want banana rods so chickened out at that power level...

Currently waiting to be built up is a forged motor, Supertech pistons, godspeed rods, boundary pump gears, mk2.5 VVT head, 6 speed box and 3.9 diff which should let me wind the power up a bit more :) I've had the bits for about 18 months but ran out of motivation last year so didn't get round to it...

Anyway, enough shite from me, hello :)

Generic chinese forged rods FTW...

why not spend the money on rods and reuse your factory pistons?

I did think about re-using standard pistons, but searching on here said they would be borderline at something like 300whp..

Godspeed rods are identical to pretty much every chinese made rod out there (scat, eagle, etc) for my power levels they'll be fine, and they were less than $300 with ARP fasteners...
