Glad to finally be on here. I've been a Miata guy since my first speeding ticket in my parent's black 96 when I was a kid haha. In the past couple years I've become a Miata owner and try to be as plugged in with the community as I can. I'm in the Raleigh area so I'm a member of Triangle Miata Roadsters (TMR). If you're in the area come out and say hi!

I'm currently building a track-focused NB turbo running a modest Kraken kit with forged internals. Power goals are reliable 200-220HP for track use. I'm here to learn as much as I can and be a resource however I can. Glad to be here ya'll 🏄‍♂️

That's a really pretty car you have. I like your idea for miatabolts. You should make a trackside "grab bag" that includes all the common sizes and lengths for that oh shit moment at the track.

Thank you! and great idea! Probably would move a lot of diff spacers too. I've supplied more than one to some friends in a tight spot.

Nice car! I'm having trouble telling, you already have the built motor and turbo in it? If so, that thing's an absolute sleeper!

Thanks! That photo was right before I pulled the motor for rebuild. I'm about to send the block to the machine shop after holiday break. I bought it with 208K miles but whoever owned it took immaculate care of it. This is what I saw when I removed the valve cover (and cams):

I'll definitely keeping it as clean & well maintained as possible. There were maintenance & repair clues all over the car that it had been cared for. Zero rust, 1 owner. All for 5 grand cash!

Dang, you got the unicorn Miata! Not many one owner NA/NB Miatas around these days. My car was a one owner car as well but it got into a fender bender and then sat outside and didn’t run for 3+ years before I bought it, so it was less than immaculate.

That head’s crazy clean for the mileage. What a great starting point. Keep the build thread updated as you build the motor!

This is bringing back memories of when I had a pretty much stock minty black NB... oh how 6 years of building has ruined things.. lol

Honestly I didn't turn a single wrench on it (aside from maintenance) for about 6 months because of this. I was on the fence about turning it into a track workhorse because it was just too clean. But, when I originally started looking for a second Miata as a wrench project, this was too good of a deal to pass up. Plus, as I go to more and more local Miata evens, there's actually a lot more clean / untouched OEM examples than I was expecting. They're more common than I thought, so wrench time it is!
