Lurker from SoCal

Hello! My name is Jay and I live in Ventura County California. I have a Crystal White ‘91 A-Package with 160K on the odo. This car was my wife’s daily driver from 1994 to 2000. It was essentially the “family” car at the time. We drove it everywhere we could, including a trip to Chicago and back for vacation one summer. We also drove it at Laguna Seca a couple of times back then, in stock trim! My wife was having so much fun she spun the car exiting turn 11! (no damage)

When she up-sized to a turbo Jetta in 2000, I adopted the Miata as my toy. I have since upgraded the wheels/ tires/suspension and have had a lot of fun canyon carving and autocrossing.

My wife rented an Elise for me for Fathers Day in 2007 and it was then that I realized my Miata needed much more power! With the help of this site, I now have the car running on a MS1 with 440cc injectors and a variable TPS.

The car now has MT.net blood lines because I am currently installing a BEGi S2 kit that was once installed on oconnor’s car, was then bought and removed by Savington, and then sold to me!

I have been lurking around this site for a couple of years now, and I really appreciate all the work you guys have put into the site. You made it possible to get as far as I have. Thanks!

If this intro makes me sound like I should be at m.net, it's because I fit their demographic pretty well (middle age /w a kid, suburban life.) But I like it better here because I learn so much more!

I'd say you fit in just fine here. The fact you aren't worried about modding your "Mint" "R-Package" with "40k" "Original Miles" means you are not typical mnet.

Either way sounds like you are making some good progress. Good luck with the BEGi kit.
