My first miataturbo.net post

So after reading post after post in the darkness of my room, I've grown very fond of the community and the attitude of miataturbo.net. I love cars and I love learning, so this place is a goldmine for me. I'm 18 and work for a friends father who owns his own shop, volvo specialist. Been working there for about a year pretty diligently and have earned myself keys to the shop and a pretty stable job. Which of course means I'm taking full advantage to work on my recently purchased '90 miata on the weekends. Turbo plans in store, just wanted to introduce myself and say hello as a newb to the forum.

Welcome to the forum. What are your plans for the car?

Does it involve a left over turbo from a Volvo you got for free?

Which unless he can weld is a pretty stupid idea.

I started doing some supports stuff for a turbo, torsen swap and a stage 1 clutch, but really I just want a fun daily. Planning to buy a pnp megasquirt (because I don't trust my wiring skills lol) and start doing things slowly. Have a td04 off of a 940 that I'll use. I know that may not be the most efficient and whatever but I'm not going for big power, I'm coming from driving a old truck so I don't need a lot to excite, planning to make 8-9 pounds of boost reliably. Only the future can tell though I suppose

Yes, planning to rebuild an old td04 and probably will weld up my own manifold/downpipe. My boss' brother recently came along to work with us and he used to do exhaust for the most part, so if I ever get stuck I can always ask for advice. More work maybe, but I really enjoy doing things myself, even though the small experience I have may not outweigh buying something proven to work.
