My names Jacob, and I’m addicted to Miatas
Hello everyone. Just introducing myself to the forums. I am new to the Miata scene. I recently moved about an hour out of town(Tallahassee FL) to a free home I acquired. In doing so I decided driving my crew cab Silverado back and forth for work wasn’t going to be a bright idea. I spent some time on Craigslist and stumbled upon a Miata that looked really clean several hours out of town. I went and checked it out, and ended up driving back home with it. It wasn’t as clean as they made it appear, typical. But none the less I fell in love with the platform.
The victim of my purchase is a 2000 (NB1) 5 speed standard transmission 1.8l Miata with 124k miles. I would like to make the car a little more “peppy” so to speak. Upon research my unrealistic aspirations are to do the rocketeer AJ30 swap, but for where I am at and everything else I have going on that’s not something I will be able to afford. With that being said, forced induction seems to be the less expensive alternative to pulling more horsepower out of the Miata. I am a plumber by trade, and a business scholar. I am mechanically inclined but no mechanic. However, I feel confident in my abilities to do just about anything with the proper research and preparation. The most mechanically involved thing I’ve done alone is rebuild the rear end/diff on my Silverado. Anyways. That’s pretty much it, and I look forward to chatting with you all and reaping all of your knowledge. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...6a11303b4.jpeg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...a1303b5a1.jpeg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...54dddb003.jpeg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...fcec27738.jpeg |
