My street tuned NB8C - Non-Tubo VVT

https://ibb.co/nuR3a0 Hello everyone, I've had a Build/Picture thread around here before but seems to have disappeared. Anyways, here's a few pictures from me waxing the new paint for the first time today. I've done little to it aside from maintenance. The goal of my car is to tune it in a way that is comfortable enough in the streets to daily drive, yet still be improved upon in a balanced way that will be fun at the race track. I daily drive it in Houston, which is equal parts fun and scary. I bought them before 15x8 RPF1s was a thing and they have honestly been super tough for years) Yokohama ADO8R 205/50/15 Engine-------------------------------- Full rebuild with a small overbore of 84mm from 83.5 with new pistons, balanced crank, rebuilt head, etc. Nothing fancy, mostly just a rebuild. Fidanza 8.3lb flywheel Factory clutch unknown 4-1 header. Bought it for $100 and has held strong for years. I'll probably go with the Flyin' Miata kit, just because I value reliability over everything. I'd like to improve upon the interior by replacing old and well-used parts with black colored interior pieces. Adding some sound proving and vibration reduction here and there would be nice. The Sony XAV series of double-din head units is very high on my list because of Android Auto, which I would imagine would make the car feel so much more modern. Anyways, I'm inspired by the Japanse tuner cars from the early 2000s and 1990s, so more power and body kits will hopefully be in the future! |
Sounds awesome. Lets see some pics!

Thanks. I'm not sure how you managed to link to the images, but I appreciate it.

Rebuilt, and balanced engine with stock rods?

Hahaha I know, but I've been a broke student for almost the entirety of my 6-year ownership. I actually sold an entire supercharger kit + MS3 VVT to afford the rebuild :(. Fortunately, I have a real job now and can afford real race car parts. I'm just happy it runs reliably well.

Looks like a very sweet street Miata |
